What is Screamers?
A youtube video or a Flash game used as a practical joke to try and scare the viewer or the player abruptly.
It starts out quiet, so the victim is forced to turn up the volume. After about a minute or two, a maxed out volume scream is heard occupied with a frightening image.
One type of screamer is The Maze. The player has to go through a maze without touching the walls. Once the player gets to Level 3, they get close to the end, and a scream is played with a picture of a possessed woman.
James sent me one of those screamer videos. I think I've been scarred for life.

An internet prank that makes the audience stare into the screen intently, only to have them surprised by a loud scream, almost always coupled with a scary image.
The Maze (Scary Maze), Where's Waldo, relaxing car drive, What's Wrong With This Picture, all great examples of screamers.

When you have a terrible case of diarrhea and it sounds like someone is deflating a wet balloon the size of the Hindenberg.

Screamers - definition
A Flash program or video that appears to be a game, a test or a still image. The point is to get somebody to concentrate on the program for a period of time and then all of a sudden a loud scream is heard. Often these screams are coupled with a scary image. These programs are meant to be jokes to scare the hell out of people. These often work because the person is often so involved in the program or concentrating so hard they are totally taken by surprise when the scream and scary image come on. There are many of these programs on the internet and Liquid Generation’s Sabatoge series is a good example of these Flash programs. Some other examples of these kinds of programs are:
A maze game where you can't touch the edges with your cursor. You only get to level 3 and when you are trying to navigate your cursor through a small area the scream starts with a scary image of a possessed woman.
A vision test where you need to trace a large letter with your mouse and not go outside of the lines. Then a scream comes up and a scary image.

A screamer is a goal scored from a distance with a powerful strike that usually ends up in one of the two corners of the opposing team's net.

When the producer of the Creepy Gaming series promised he would not use screamers in his videos, he was assuring his audience that they would be assaulted by neither jumpscares nor the consistent irritating baby noises that were synonymous with Creepypasta Lets Plays or such reaction videos on Youtube.

A sudden jumpscare that features a loud scream and a scary image. Usually found in youtube videos and flash games. They are ment to prank the person by starting off the video or game really quiet forcing the player to turn up the volume. then a really loud scream plays to startle the player.
Examples of screamers include:
A commericial where a car drives down a road with soothing music playing, then a zombie pops up and screams loudly.
A maze flash game where the player has to move his mouse through a small pathway. Once the player is closed to the end, a scream is played.
Matthew: Oh man, I played the maze game yesterday and was terrified of the screamer.
Adam: Same man. I had nightmares for a week. Screamers suck!
