Snurch - what is it?

An amazing website that looks at the world, one city at a time, with large snarky eyes.

What does "snurch" mean?

Apparently 'smell', as a verb. I knew a roadie who sometimes included the word in the lines he yelled from the truck at passing girls. This was UK, circa 1975, and the roadie was from the county of Dorset.

"Gie us a snurch of yer knickers"!

Snurch - meaning

A religion all about snails. The central diety of the Snurch is Snod, followed by other sniblical figures such as Snesus, The Snophet, Snodmother, Snesiah, and Snarchangel. The true loyal followers of the Snurch are Snesiples. The antagonistic force of the Snurch is Snatan.

The snail is the inspiration behind the Snurch and the embodiment of everything the Snurch values. Its spiral shell symbolizes the circle of life in which we are born, live our lives, and slowly spiral towards death all while forming our lives. The shell is also a home for the snail that it carries wherever it goes, just like the impact and influence of the Snurch being carried by us for our entire lives. For these reasons, the spiral is the official symbol of the Snurch. The snail moves throughout its life at an incredibly slow pace, resulting in a state of enlightenment completely immersed in the natural beauty of the world during each moment, living in blissful ignorance that its fragile little life may be squandered by a single step or a hot day.

Participants of the Snurch practice their faith by gathering around a communal table to discuss the Snurch, admire the snail creations of Snod, and relentlessly make fun of Snatan.

Some might say the Snurch is a pathetic copy of Christianity, but it is in fact the contrary. The Snurch contains the universal truth, but the sniblical figures and events were tragically distorted by anti-snail, Snatanic propaganda.

Snesiple 1: Today at the Snurch they taught me the Virgin Snary gave birth to baby Snesus all on her own because snails can reproduce asexually!

Snesiple 2: Snoses also had to split the whole fucking ocean instead of using a boat because it was salt water and they die if they touch it!

Snatan: what the fuck i fucking hate this shit

Snurch - slang

Snail church, where the lads also go on sundays, not for the prayer... but for the cheeky nandos.

Snurch

A snurch is a noun. A snurch is a combination of two words, snail (an animal), and church (a place of worship). Snurch stands for β€˜snail church’ and it’s a congregation of snails worshipping in a certain place.

That snail made a leaf boat to get to snurch. Im proud of him.

Snurch

z.nerr-ch

To sniff back a noseful of snot because either you haven't got a handkerchief or you're just too lazy to blow your nose.

This is the opposite of a "Pitmon's Hankie", whereby you press a thumb or finger against a nostril and blow forth snot through the other one onto the pavement.

"Stop snurching and blow your nose you derty get... I'm trying to eat me dinner here!"

To steal or swipe an available item. Usually used in a joking manner.

That is so cool! I'm snurching it, if you don't mind.
