What does "gloomy" mean?

When a teenager is feeling gloomy for one reason or another. Can deal with love, homework, or other typical teenage problems, like mood swings in general. Will usually pass in a couple days or less. Sometimes lasts longer, the bigger the issue.

Does not have to do with life-changing problems, like parents divorce, death of family members, etc.

Person 1: I was rejected, and now I am feeling sad. Am I getting depressed, like, seriously?

Person 2: No, you probably just have a case of Teenage Gloomies.

Person 1: Urgh, I can't control my feelings anymore! I'm going from sad to happy to sad again in a minute! Am I getting some sort of clinical depression?

Gloomy - what does it mean?

Song, originally written by Seress Rezo in Budapest in the late 1920's. Became famous in connection with string of suicides. Later recorded by Billie Holiday and, as in Hungary, was connected with several cases of 'self deliverance'.
The writer killed himself in the late 1960's.
Incidentally, until recently Hungary had the highest suicide rate in the world.

Gloomy - meaning

Japanese.

Gloomy, an abandoned little bear, is rescued by Pitty (the little boy). At first, he is cute and cuddly, but becomes more wild as he grows up. Since bears do not become attached to people like dogs by nature, Gloomy attacks Pitty even though he is the owner. So Gloomy has blood on him from biting and/or scratching Pitty.
