Definder - what does the word mean?

What is pulling a Dave?

The social devolution that occurs after meeting a partner who does not let you see, nor speak to one's friends.

Dave enjoyed going to the pub and going out with friends. Then he met a witch called Victoria. She cast a spell on him, and now Dave is not capable of speaking to his friends any more. We can't see him anymore, he is pulling a Dave.

What does "pulling a Dave" mean?

1) Telling a person that you're going to be there at a specified time to help him or her with what they need assistance with. Then, when that time comes, do not show, do not call, and ignore all phone calls and communications from that person. Afterwards, when confronted about it, lie profusely about it, then promise to be there the following day. Repeat process.

2) Showing up to assist a person by damaging or breaking their equipment, then leaving with nothing more than a "sorry".

Man, I was working on my car the other day pulling the engine and doing suspension work. It would have been much easier to accomplish if my friend actually showed up as promised. He's really pulling a Dave Lucas on me lately.
