What is millburn?
nHallways filled left to right with JAPs (jewish american princesses) with tightest asses, the biggest noses, and flattest abs who back it up with ample privelege from Daddy. Drinking with lawyers, executives, doctors, and the occasional judge is quite the norm. The question is not how much the item is, its how many you have purchase. Children of connected privelege; where SAT's dont matter and educations are given away through connections like invitations.
The people who commute out of this town all have hooked up jobs. The people who commute into our town do our laundry and clean our houses.

Millburn - what is it?
A school that matters less than everyone thinks it does.
Who cares if it's got hundreds of extremely wealthy, entitled students? It blends in perfectly with other New Jersey wealthy towns like Livingston, Summit, Chatham, Far Hills, Essex Falls, Mountain Lakes, Watchung, Glen Ridge, etc.
Students from Millburn will end up at good colleges, but are by no means incredibly smart. Half the grade, on average, gets below an 1800 on the SATs.
There are also all the usual high school cliques, including the jocks, nerds, preps, goths, skaters, stoners, japs, and outcasts.
It's hit-or-miss in terms of teacher quality, and there are plenty of troubled kids always breaking the rules for reasons beyond "Well-my-daddy-told-me, I-can-do-anything-I-want."
There are hardly any field trips, but the music program is quite good, and there's a nice new turf football field. However, typical of an affluent, intense town, the arts program is notoriously underfunded.
Chances are, once a kid leaves Millburn High, they won't be remembering the four years there as "the best in their lives" and "the only time they felt truly at home" and "the time when I could be myself".
It's high school. Get over yourselves. It's not like life.
No one judges you by judging Millburn. Wait until you make something of yourself before you start measuring yourself up in the eyes of the world.

Joey: Oh. I've heard it's really rich and full of conformist JAPs, and that everyone is a genius, and the parties really suck, and everyone is always getting high on their dad's money before embarking on fabulous Wall Street careers.
Mika: Nope. I spent my summers at home, and I had normal friends, who I partied with, but we were never out of control because we wanted our parents to trust us, and we were rich, but not rich enough to misunderstand the value of money.
Joey: Oh. What do you do now?
Mika: Well, I went to NYU, and I've been working really heard as an accountant. Life isn't a bed of roses, but it's not bad either.
Joey: So, have you been back to visit?
Mika: Nah, it isn't really worth my time.
What does "millburn" mean?
Millburn High is trashed by it's surrounding towns because they wish they went here. The worst school that will be attended by a student of the graduating class will still go to a top 100 school. The kids score higher on the SATS than the president. The student parking lot is full of beemers, benz, lexus, rolls royce, porsche, hummer, cadilacs, rovers.. if it's a luxury car we've got it. We all claim to hate this town but.. were rich and we no it. We'd rather be known for being obnoxiouse than not being known. Our school is made up of residence from Short Hills and Millburn. Millburn is known as the ghetto of Short Hills, and as a a resident form Short HIlls i could say the income of both towns is equivalent.. but hey Short HIlls is SHort Hills and MILLBurn will never be that. The skaters bust there 'stoges' in between class, we're threatened about cuttting but never are we reported, our partys are always busted by our oh so dedicated cops. We live in one of the richest towns in the world, our school is in the top 5.. so let's quit complaining and shove it in the poor surrounding towns faces.

the action of saying degrading things about people, blowing a whistle in someones face or pushing people into lockers, that is considered news worthy. It involves no punching, kicking, weapons, or physical bullying in any way. People accused of millburn hazing are often compared to Kanye West.

Millburn - meaning
Millburn is the so thought of "ghetto" of short hills. Well, it isn't. Millburn has as many japs preps skaters and posers as short hills as well as all of the "drama" but all the kids in Millburn are the same as short hills: They are bratty, snobby, jerky, and do not deserve anything that they own. Millburn does deserve to pop there collors though because Short Hills pretty much owns Millburn. When you think about it it is ghetto (compared to short hills).

Millburn is as bad as Short Hills. Short hills is a part of Millburn, just with it's own zip code. Everyone goes to Millburn High and Millburn Middle. They share the Millburn Police and Fire Dept. Millburn people make as much money as Short Hills people. It is just divided by tracks that is all. People make such a big deal about it, but they should go and back to their little rich houses and shut up. Millburn is the same. Maybe we produce more punks and skaters who skate at The Common then Short Hills because people grow up to belive that Millburn is the "ghetto" Bottom line: Millburn is as rich, snobby, bratty, bitchy, lucky as Short Hills.

Millburn - slang
just about the most boring place to live. This is a very good school district that attracts not so good people. Good down town area filled with nice little restaurants where kids from Middle and High School spend their parents money after school. Besides the fact that a lot of the kids in the school are pretty snobby, there are a few small friend groups filled with individuals who are down to earth and very nice people. The school year consists of many nice little vacations (thanks to the Jewish Holidays!) and well spaced out breaks (i.e winter break, spring break) all within a month of eachother. The football team for the high school is pretty bad, but people still support it anyway. the soccer team is really good.
Home and Property: the property here is very expensive because of the great school district. There are a few appartment complexes which are nice to live in. Taxes are VERY high here and so is the school lunch.
Drug of Choice is Alcohol and weed.

Millburn
I live in Millburn, not Shorthills, and there is a big difference, ShortHills is filled with people who move to the town for getting to work in NY and the school system, people in Millburn usually arent there to leech of the school system and are down to earth. My family has lived in Millburn for more then 200 years and I and my parents, among other families in Millburn work hard for everything we own and dont have unlimited amounts of money.

An ok place to live. There are awfully, terrible, snobby people who live there, and people who act like sluts and think they're cool. However, there are also really nice people and very smart people. The ignorant, "slutty" people are very annoying, but they won't get in your way...much. There are some very nice teachers and really mean teachers, but overall, they're ok. The stress is immense, and so is the homework load. There are different groups of popular people and un-popular people. There are the snobby, slutty, rich popular people, the semi-nice, smartish, but still fashionable popular people, and there are the they should be more popular, popular people. In the unpopular ground there are the emo, gay, lesbian, nice unpopular people, the nerdy, quiet, I-don't-feel-comfortable-talking-to unpopular people, and the fun, crazy, nice, yet can be a bit odd unpopular people. In Millburn, the restaurants are nice, some are popular but some are really bad. There are so many ice cream places. The deli is the best, and almost everything is expensive. To blend in you need to be rich, pretty, a bit smart, and fashionable. The housing is nice, but can be expensive. When you go to college, you are expected to go to an ivy league, but if you don't you won't really care because you will be happy you left.
