Definder - what does the word mean?

What is dirk?

To break something and leave quickly before anyone notices. Most usually used in the context of a computer network, where for example a consultant may come in to work on something, inadvertently break something and rather than fix it, will make his excuses and leave.

1: Does anyone know why the live webserver seems to be down?
2: No. The consultant was in earlier though.
1: Oh shit... we've been dirked!

Dirk

Pronounced durk. Secondary weapon of a Scottish warrior, after the claymore. The dirk is a long dagger, only slightly too short to be called a short sword. Blade in the range of 14 inches, commonly had only a bound handle, sometimes a small crosshilt.

The mighty warrior from the Highlands was a walking armory; he carried a claymore, a dirk, and a sgian dukh, along with his pack and shield.
