Definder - what does the word mean?

What is Red Hot Chili Peppers?

A very great band, who have had some member changes but all have been amazing musicians. The mixed funk with punk, and threw a little bit of rap in too. They've had many hit songs, and several successful albums.

Red Hot Chili Peppers were around before Faith No More, dumbass.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - what is it?

A band that used to be good, but now they suck and are completely overrated and bland.

Members of the band include Anthony Kiedis (he used to be a cool guy in the 80's, but he became too self absorbed when the Peppers became famous.)

The overrated and bland guitarist John Frusciante. (Tell me, if he's such a talented guitarist, then why does he play such simple guitar riffs? You'd think he'd actually have the nerve to use his talent to create something more original and complex.)

And of course, one of the most talented bassists of all time, Flea. (too bad for being in an overrated band.)

Chad Smith (I don't understand why he is even in this band? He is one of the most repetitive drummers I've ever heard.)

Red Hot Chili Peppers were a great band back in the 80's, but after Hillel Slovak died, they have gone downhill since.

They should have just gave up instead of making 6 boring and redudant albums and leave us with the 3 classic albums they made while Hillel was alive. Then I wouldn't be calling them "overrated".

Red Hot Chili Peppers - slang

A funk rock band, currently made up of singer Anthony Kiedis, Flea (born Michael Balzary), John Frusciante and Chad Smith. They have gone through various line-up changes, but mainly based around Kiedis and Flea.
Flea is one of the best bassists in history, with frequent use of slap bass technique.
Hillel Slovak was arguably their best guitarist, but died tragically from a heroin overdose.
They have released 8 albums to date. Their first four albums are the better but unfortunately lesser known material.

An interesting fact about Anthony Kiedis is that he is of Lithuanian and Apache Indian descent.

Red Hot Chili Peppers used to be great.

β€œIf anyone decides to make a Red Hot Chili Peppers biopic, the most apt title has already been taken by M Night Shyamalan: Unbreakable. The tagline they could filch from Nietzsche: what doesn’t kill them makes them stronger”. So wrote Q magazine in 2002 just before the release of the critically acclaimed By The Way album. This album marked a turning point in the history of this band, as it was the moment when they finally turned their back on the bass-oriented music of their past, and moved forward in a way that seemed impossible to those who had been long-time fans of the band. This was not only due to the fact that it was musically so different to the blistering, George Clinton led, and in some cases produced, funk rock of their early albums, but also because it seemed for a long time that the Red Hot Chili Peppers simply could not possibly exist over 20 years after their formation. After all, any band that had been through 8 guitarists, 4 drummers, and more drug problems than any group could reasonably expect to survive, surely couldn’t be at the peak of its popularity after over 20 years of existence, could it? The answer, as demonstrated by the band’s massive series of concerts over this summer, is a resounding yes.

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Originating in the 80s, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of the first bands ever to mix cool raps with some punk and heavy metal, along with great guitar solos. Authors of the famous under the bridge (widely mistaken as city of angels), the Red Hot Chili Peppers were influencial to many styles today, including groups such as the stone temple pilots, and even rage against the machine.

Flea has amazing bass solos!
