"Choppa" or "Chopper" is a term used since Al Capone's age to refer to fully automatic small barreled guns, wich, in theory, could easily chop out someone's limps due to the amount of shots fired in a single spot in a short period of time, usually shot from very near the target.

With these rifle caliber pistols becoming more common, the term "Choppa" gradually became used for all kinda guns used for gang activities, including those who are not SBR's neither AR/AK pistols/SMG's, even these last are the first thought majority of people have when they hear the word "Choppa".
