A clothing store that isn't clique specific, but caters to a somewhat preppy crowd.

American Eagle - what is it?
A store where basically everything goes on clearance after a month, making the $40 price tag on a skirt much more affordable. Generally confused with being preppy, American Eagle sells beachy clothing. Before you say AE is preppy, compare it to Brooks Brothers or Lilly Pulitzer. See my point?
A good place to get stuff to layer. Just don't make my mistake and go into AE looking for bright preppy colors. AE's colors are basically limited to: Navy, Brown, Forest Green, Puse, and Burgundy. I liked their kahki and white shorts, it's hard to find simple items like plain shorts anymore.

What does "American Eagle" mean?
Teens of good character wear these shirts to declare "I Love My Country!". In the same closets of these teens you will find Aeropostale shirts meaning "I Love My Daddy" and Hollister shirts meaning "I Love My Mommy".
Teen: I will be patriotic on July 4th and wear my American Eagle shirt.

a less expensive version of abercrombie. they have cool affordable clothing, unlike abercrombie. i like how american eagle because they don't have the brand on every single shirt they sell.
they also have really good jeans for a really cheap price ($29.95).

a clothing store for teenagers with a generally "preppy" style. it doesnt say anything about your personality if you shop there. and you should not be labeled a bitch just because you like an ae shirt. half the people leaving ae definitions have most likely never worn ae let alone gone into one of their stores. my god!

American Eagle - slang
A store which sells nice clothes for those who like that vintage style. Easy to wear with many other brands, and although somewhat overpriced, thats the way business works. the Sale rack is usually great. Just because some people choose to wear what they like doesnt mean they're rich snobs, it can simply mean they like the shirt they're wearing. Maybe they're not rich and saved up to buy the shirt. Just because you dislike AE, doesnt mean that anyone who wears it is preppy or a bitch.

American Eagle
A popular, good quality store that sells fashionable and generally affordable clothes to today's youth. Generally mis-labeled as a "prep store" despite the fact that an actual prep wouldn be caught dead wearing AE or anything like that. Cheaper than places like abercrombie and Hollister Co., with a more conservative and clean- cut style. Ignorant people who hate the so called popular kids in school (that generally wear these sort of clothes) like to bash this store, disgracing websites like urbandictionary.com. In addition AE has a GUYS SECTION, so just because a guy (like me) likes to wear clothes from this store DOES NOT make them gay or bisexual.

American Eagle
American Eagle Outfitters or AE sells highly trendy clothes targeted at the lucrative teenage population. American Eagle's clothing is usually (I'm saying usually because of course you have the girls who buy like a small when they are a large) less slutty than some of the items you would find at Abercrombie. AE is a great place to find stylish jeans and vintage tees. As an added bonus they always have a great sales rack!
