Shine box - what is it?
From the movie Goodfellas. Billie Bats tells Joe Pesci's character to "Go get your shine box" because he used to shine the gangsters shoes.
1: A way of putting someone in their place
2: Telling someone to go fuck themselves
3: Another way of saying "Fuck You" without saying "Fuck You"
4: Letting some one who thinks they are "big time" know you remember when they weren't shit.

What does "shine box" mean?
A drink mainly drank on the West coast of Ireland. It must contain exactly 2 shots of Vodka, 1 shot of Tequila and an indeterminate amount of an orange flavored drink.
Failure by the bar person to make it correctly requires you to throw it back at them while hurling abuse until you are ejected from the establishment.
Mad Mike: "Can I have two Tequila Shine Boxes."
Bar Man: "Whats that?"
Mad Mike: "If ya don't know that ya can go home and get you f*#king shine box."
Shine box - what does it mean?
(verb transitive; present-progressive, "shine-boxing;" past tense, "shine-boxed"): To repeatedly taunt and insinuate another person on a sensitive topic to the point that the insulted party becomes violently angry.
Billy Batts shine-boxes Tommy in the film "Goodfellas" by continuing to refer to Tommy's past, in spite of Tommy's repeated requests for Batts to stop. This reaches a climax when a pretense to be respectful is shattered as Batts yells loud enough for everyone in the bar to hear, "Now go home and get your fucking shine box!"
