What is Palance?

A system created more than 200 years ago by the framers of the U.S. Constitution that takes power away from the three branches of government (executive, judicial, & legislative), and gives more direct power to the late film actor Jack Palance.
-Before any bill is submitted before Congress, it must first be reviewed by Jack Palance.
-If passed by Palance and three-quarters of both houses of Congress, it must then be approved by the president.
-If signed by the president, it must again be reviewed by Jack Palance.
-Jack Palance can then overrule the high court if he believes the a law is not palanced.
-Each of the three branches jacks the power of the other two...creating an equal palance of power.

The system of jacks & palances is integral to the federal government's continued stability.

What does "Palance" mean?

Trinidad Soca Monarchs JW and Blaze coined the derived term โ€™palancingโ€™โ€™. Although claimed as theirs, formed by simply removing the โ€™Rโ€™โ€™ from the word โ€™parlanceโ€™โ€™. The term is โ€™Jack Palancingโ€™โ€™ which is a linguistic device known as rhyming slangs (later to be called Cockney rhyming slangs). These rhyming slangs, peculiar to most languages were slangs in which words were replaced by a word or phrase with which they rhymed. Another form of rhyming slangs was called reduplication as in such terms as โ€™hoity toityโ€™โ€™, โ€™namby pambyโ€™โ€™, โ€™nitty grittyโ€™โ€™, โ€™itsy bitsyโ€™โ€™ etc.

The term โ€™Jack Palancingโ€™โ€™ simply means dancing. Its origin may be more Irish than Cockney. As a matter of fact, one well-known Cockney rhyming slang is โ€™donkeyโ€™s earsโ€™โ€™ meaning โ€™yearsโ€™โ€™.

Palance - what does it mean?

(verb) Palance is a Trinidadian dialect term which means 'to party and have fun'. It is closely related to the term 'lime' but, unlike a lime which involves hanging out with friends, palancing involves having extreme fun (most typically in a party setting) and can be done on one's own, or with friends as well.

The term, though gaining major popularity during the 2010 Carnival due to the song of the same name (by JW and Blaze), has been around for a long time. The term reportedly was created by the radio DJs JW and Blaze a few years ago and used on their radio programmes. JW has said that the term originated based partially on use/meaning of the word parlance.

1. Las night we rel palance in de party!

2. I feel I go palance by mehself today, goin an take in a lil fun an ting.

3. Leh we plan a lime nah? We go rel palance wen we limin in she concert.
