What is Grunger?
Grungers are a group of people who listen to good music such as Nirvana (not only nirvana though), Audioslave, Soundgarden, Bullet For My Valentine and other bands from the metal and rock genre. They treat chavs like they deserved to be treated but do not often hurt them, but be warned they will if provoked. They wear baggy jeans, skater shoes and often a black T-Shirt/Hoody with a bands name on it such as Metallica or Slipknot. They generally get on with everyone well and like hanging out with each other. Avril Lavigne is NOT a grunger. She is a poser.

Grunger - what is it?
Grunger is a common slang term given to anybody related to the alternate scene. It originated around the late 80s to mid 90s grunge scene. Started by bands like Alice in chans, The Melvins and Nirvana. The word grunge was first used by a critic trying to describe the rawness of the sound these bands created. It somehow stuck, and over the years was transformed into the steriotype of grunger.

Oh my god. You english pricks are so fucking stupid. Grunge isn't a trend. It's a way of life. Grunge isn't Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Creed etc. its Malfunkshun, Mono Men, Love Battery, Green River, Temple Of The Dog, TAD, Mother Love Bone, The Melvins, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees, Skin Yard, Alice In Chains, etc.
Nirvana and Pearl Jam aren't exactly Grunge, people just confused them for being grunge cause they were in the Seattle area. They didn't even like being called grunge. (according to Wikipedia)
The only Nirvana songs that can be considered Grunge were their hits "You Know You're Right", "About a Girl" and "Heart-Shaped Box"..."Smells Like Teen Spirit" would classify as Hard Rock. Not Grunge...
Also...Grunge isn't dead. There are still many Grunge bands in the Seattle area, they're just not well known enough to even get a record deal...
And "Grungers" don't wear trashy clothes. They wear whatever the hell they can afford. Stop trying to make Grunge a trend.

It is an easy way to determine who is a good or crap person simply by what they wear. Doesn't that save the unnessessary time taken to get to know a person??

What is the point?
I doubt this will change the mind of anyone set in their narrow minded ways but it's better than the influence some of these predjudice definitions could cause.

Grungers mostley act in a kind and laid back way, not careing about much. They also often feel the world is run by the media and that its not what you achive thats important but how you achive it. Grungers generaly wear any clothes that are comfortable but some common styles include unbrannded clothes, ripped jeans, flannle shirts and baggy jumpers, although, clothes are unimportant to most Grungers and they often say that yuo shouldn't follow trends because it makes you more boreing.

A grunger is someone who listens to a subculteral type of music called grunge. A grunger is always being stereotyped as a "skater" and being mocked for their taste in clothes, becasue of the simple fact they don't have one. Grungers wear whatever they can find. This usually means flannel shirts and faded holey jeans. Most grungers are male(though not all) and have long(sometimes greasy)hair. Grungers are also mocked for their hygiene and cleanliness, as grungers don't give a shit what people think of them. Grunge bands include Nirvana, Pearl Jam and many others. A grungers worst enemy is a townie.

Grunge is a name given to people who dont wear what is "treany" this does not however make some one grunge or a grunger, nor is a grunger someone who just listens to nirvana. Grunge is some one who honestly does not care what they wear or what they look like. Grunge is a frame of mind not just what you wear. you cant be a grunger just because you wear ripped jeans, flannels or doc martins or convers shoes. A true grunger does not care how they dress or what they look like and tend to follow bands form seattle that appeared in the late 80's and early 90's. Bands such as Nirvana,AIC,pearl jam, mud honey,screaming trees and many less well knowen bands besides the big 5.

i)wears clothes, that are as cheap as they can find but still comfotable and good enough to wear - often from charity shops or from ebay. Often wears baggy jeans/trousers, tops WITHOUT LOGOS ON, jumpers (a la Kurt Cobain), earthy colours -greens, beiges, kharkis (but not in an army style)
Grungers dont care what other people think of them. They love music and as long as they are happy and their friends are happy they are content.

Somebody who listens to grunge music first off, some of theses bands are (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Mudhoney...the list goes on). Wears whatever the hell they want and don't care how it looks, as long as its comfortable, usually has long hair but doesn't have to. Usually doesn't care, and can be lazy. Don't get angry easily either.
I'm a grunger, these are some of my favorite bands, not all of them are grunge, but they don't have to be.
