Fight Club - definition

A movie/book that is over-used and often misunderstood. This book shows how most of the world is obsessed with consumer products. The movie is not about beating each other senseless for fun, and it is not about the rules and those who are out there writing definitions reciting the rules are just douchebags. The movie is not REAL. It is a MOVIE. Tone down your imaginations and get over it. However, the point the movie makes is a valid and mostly overlooked point that everyone should consider.

"Fight Club was a movie that revolutionized the minds of space monkeys everywhere."

"I know that movie! *starts to recite the rules*"

"The movie isnt about the Fight Clubs you poseur douchebag. Stfu."

Fight Club - slang

An underground classic since its first publication in 1996, Fight Club is now recognized as one of the most original and provokitave novels ever published. Chuck Palahniuk's darkly funny first noivel tell the story of a man with no name(refered to as jack), and his journey through a small part of his life, a small part of his life that has somthing to do with a girl, named marla singer, and a man named tyler durden, through out the story his ultimate goal is to hit rock bottom, in his words, if you wake up in a differant tima and a differant place, can you wake up as a differant person?

One morning there is a dead jellyfish of a used condom floating in the toilet.
this is how tyler meets marla

Fight Club

The largely misunderstood movie that some idiot teenagers and even twenty-somethings use as an excuse to beat each other senseless in an attempt to make the emptiness that is their life a little less empty and instead replace it with pain - Kind of like a cutter.

The film was actually a brilliant satire and morality play that exposes harsh truths about the nature of insanity and the disenfranchisement of a generation. It hardly glorifies violence, as many critics have accused, it first mocks it, then shows the terrible results through the death of an innocent man and the creation of a disturbingly widespread and ignorant cult mentality. Fight Club is about the despair we fear, and the rash measures that we find ourselves unwittingly taking to combat it which we should fear more.

Ironically in some cases the movie has created a cult it was railing against.

Stupid Guy 1: Dude, did you see that movie Fight Club? We should so try that.
Stupid Guy 2: What? Holding a fight club or rolling a gigantic globe through the window of a coffee shop?
Stupid Guy 1: Dude, I forgot about that! That was so cool!
Less Stupid Guy: Hey, didn't some guy get shot because of that?
Stupid Guy 1: Yeah, but he was fat had breasts.

Fight Club

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

A terrific yet misinterperted film. Brad Pitt portrays Tyler Durden, A charismatic and assertive soap seller who becomes Jack's (Edward Norton) new best friend. During the first part of the film, The couple establish a fight club which draws the attention of dozens of men. It helps Tyler teach them to think for themselves and turn their backs on mainstream consumerism. But later on, Tyler brainwashes these men into joining his anarchist cult Known as "Project Mayhem". Then, it is revealed that Tyler is just an hallucination of Jack created to act as his alter-ego.

This is what this movie is all about - Changing your perspective on life only to make you realize that it's not necesseraly better than before.

Did you like Tyler? The way women love him and men want to be him? Well, Tyler is so perfect because Tyler doesn't exist. His true self is Jack who is the total opposite loser.

Were you inspired to "think for yourself" and bash consumerism? Well then, you've just become another space monkey, a pawn at Tyler's hand. You fought one system only to be enslaved in another.

And for one moment, did you stop and ponder why this anti-consumerism underground is so dependent on money like any other orginised business?

Or how symbolic it is to see Tyler telling Jack he isn't real while wearing a fur coat - The top consumerism cliche?

Watch this film again and you will understand - Independent thought is the most precious character a human being can posess. And even Tyler Durden can't take it away from you.

Are you still here? Go watch Fight Club
