What does "Episcopalian" mean?

Wealthy phuckers who view church as one more notch on their resume belt as in, I serve on the vestry at my very wealthy Episcopal church. Everyone is welcome at our super liberal church , just don't be poor and uneducated as we like to impress people with our wealth, job, and status. Jesus is a welcoming kinda fellow, sermons are bland and inoffensive, nobody discusses satan or spiritual warfare. Tends to attract assholes, con artists, and a few do-gooders who remember to run things like food pantries so they can get to heaven. Plenty of old women with short hair who wear expensive, practical clothing. Leave your emotions at the door since nobody cares if you die and just want to discuss how you made a lot of money before you died. Church of heartless rich people. Did I say rich?

I am a wealthy Episcopalian and secretly long to join the Catholic church

Episcopalian - what does it mean?

Before we begin...no...it's not the diet where you reduce your meat consumption to fish and chicken.

Episcopalian refers to a Christian who adheres to the Episcopal Church of the United States and any other Church that calls itself 'Episcopal' with a capital "E." The Episcopal Church is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion which is a group of self governing Anglican Churches headed by the Church of England and the Archbishop of Canterbury.
The Episcopal Church, along with the other Anglican/Episcopal bodies, act like a blend between 90% Roman Catholicism, 3% Calvinism, and 7% Baptist. Hence being neither Protestant nor Catholic, rather a nice blend between both because Queen Elizabeth needed to satisfy two very powerful Christian groups in a short period of time before they all murdered one another and her in a bid for superiority.

Priests in the Episcopal Church are allowed to be men, women, or non binary; gay, straight; celibate or non (in the confines of marriage). Bishops act as leaders over swaths of land called dioceses. And Archbishops oversee entire national churches along with a large Synod.

Eucharist is open for all baptized Christians (regardless of whichever church they are affiliated with) to receive.

Steve: "I'm so confused."
Jenny: "Why?"
Steve: "You're over here praying the rosary and fasting on Wednesdays, but you also took your girlfriend to church and got your marriage blessed. I didn't know the Catholic Church blessed gay marriages!"
Jenny: "Well good thing I'm not Catholic, Steve. I'm Episcopalian."

Episcopalian - definition

An Episcopalian is someone who is a member of a church in the Anglican Communion or in Anglican Tradition. In the biggest case, this is the Episcopal Church (a.k.a the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America). Episcopalians are diverse in beliefs but overall are considered "High Church" Protestants. High Church because they have many Pre-Reformation practices and rituals like Roman Catholics, Orthadox, and some Lutherans and also maintain Apostolic Succession and Protestant because they are Anti-Papal and have many principles in the Book of Common Prayer (their Prayer Book) inspired by Calvinists and Lutherans.

They generally have Open Communion which allows anyone to take part in their Eucharist. They allow priests/ministers/bishops to marry, be gay, and be a women.

In 1979, Episcopalians adopted a new revision of the Book of Common Prayer to replace the 1928 version. The new book toned it down on personal sin and used more modern language. Many Traditional Episcopalians opposed this and made their own churches to continue the old traditions. These churches include:
The Anglican Church in America
The Anglican Province of America
The Anglican Catholic Church
The Traditional Protestant Episcopal Church
The Anglican Church of North America... and they are many others.

He Actually reads the Book of Common Prayer?? He must be an Episcopalian.
