What is squalor?
Living in a residence that has no decent access to the Internet.
As a web developer, I was a ashamed to find out my mom was living in digital squalor with no broadband connection to her house. It makes visiting at Christmas really suck.

Squalor - what is it?
An Urban Squalor is a slum househousehold; this means it lacks any one of the following elements:
Access to improved water.
Access to improved sanitation.
Security of tenure.
Durability of housing.
Sufficient living area.

What does "squalor" mean?
Rock/rap band from the Philadelphia suburb of Upper Darby. An ethnic group, consisting of 4 black guys, and a Puerto Rican/Indian(yes hes 1/2 and 1/2). An apartment, condo, flat or house that is kept in a perpetual state of dissarray. Shit lying everywhere, crap on every horizontal surface, dirty bathrooms and towels. Never cleaned with a mop or bleach, just occasionally vaccuumed for decorum's sake. Basically, a complete shithole of a liveable space. Often found in Baltimore, MD, USA

Characteristics of a squalorous lifestyle include daydrinking, broiling steak after midnight, polyamory, throwing trash into the street, punching holes in walls, telling complaining neighbors to fuck themselves and having no respect for the well-being of others, generally flouting societal norms and taking no responsibility for one's actions.
