Definder - what does the word mean?

What is poast?

A written post, reply, screed etc. that is so blah or weak that one can be ironically accused of poasting. Often on non leftie, high IQ boards where fellow travelers are checked with the insinuation, often in a humorous way.. " Stawp Poasting" or if a complete spaz or woke lib ..."really stop poasting" mean you should give up and probably stop writing altogether.

Has taken on a general writing connotation in regards to twitter, message boards, 4chan. Was big on former site mpcdot .

Stawp poasting!!

Poast - what is it?

A combination of the words "post," "boast," and "poaching." It is a reflexive action of participating in social media culture of displaying ones personal life out of temptation to compete with their peers, while inadvertently volunteering personal information about the self and ones relatives.

person1: Did you see person2's vacation photos?
person3: Man, person2's personal account of their own life is amazing!
person1: they poasted all their kids bullshit while vacating up in dat 'Cun (Cancun)
person3: Back in the day, we had to get a parent signature on a piece of paper and bring it back to class have our photo taken for the public. That poasting has to stop!

Poast - meaning

(verb) A blend of the words "post" and "poach". It is used in the context of securely releasing content to followers on a distributed network. This practice serves as a countermeasure against "internet poaching", the unauthorized removal of online content. Similar to "seeding", but specifically targeted towards persistent identities.

Usage:
Person 1: Dude, did you see the Broncos game last night? I found it on YouTube, but it vanished before I could even watch it.
Person 2: Yeah man, I was on Trill, that new social media app. Followed this guy "urbit-sportsjunky" who dropped a link.
Person 1: A link? Like I said, that stuff gets taken down instantly.
Person 2: Usually, yeah. But this guy, he poasted it. Followers got his message directly. All encrypted.
Person 1: So a dead link? You can't watch it if it's yanked from YouTube or Twitch, right?
Person 2: Nah, it's all different here. Once you're a follower, you're authenticated. You can download a copy directly from his computer to yours.
Person 1: No way, straight up peer-to-peer video?
Person 2: Yep. All you need is the bandwidth, dude.

Poast

Same as post or posting as a message or a commentary posted on an internet forum. Poast instead of post follows the same pattern of transcribing "ou" diphthong as "oa" as in moar instead of more.

First Poast! (First commentary to the original post)

Poast

In the realm of interwebs, there are posts and there are poasts. A post can only become a poast once it has reached the relative hotness of toast. In other words, if it is popular.

Yeah! That's a really great poast!
