Luddite - what is it?
One who secretly despises technology, yet is forced to make use of it for social reasons or due due to circumstances beyond their control

What does "luddite" mean?
a new promoter of the ideas of Ned Ludd and his people who destroyed industrial technologies while the Industrial Revolution was taking place. Neo-luddites come in many forms, and oppose technology for different reasons. This includes those calling themselves "radical traditionalists," who oppose it because they feel that industrial society subverts traditional folk-and-faith values. Others, who call themselves "primitivists," believe that technology and civilization itself are inherently repressive because it forces people to act contrary to their instincts, and interferes with natural eugenic population control measures, etc. Famous neo-Luddites include the Unabomber Ted Kaczynski, Derrick Jensen, Jacques Ellul, and John Zerzan. It must be pointed out, though, that those like the Unabomber are strictly the exception rather than the norm.
John Zerzan as a Neo-luddite has written extensively on what he believes are the atrocities of civilization.
Luddite - what does it mean?

Luddite - meaning
A slang term used by puddites to attack and ostracize those who are not afraid to keep things that still work and do not need to be upgraded. A luddite is someone who encourages the use of technology and technological equipment that is still perfectly good and perfectly working, although a new model/generation/color has come out.
For example, a luddite might prefer to save money by buying a used phone of a previous generation, or refusing to buy the latest generation because it is too overpriced.
Preteen: Haha, look at that luddite, he still have the iPhone 6! Haha what a dork, stupid luddite. I have the new iPhone 6s, my mom sacrificed her own food for a month to pay $1200 for it!
Fanboy: All my friends are luddites, I got the new call of duty 23 on my xbox four, they are all still playing call of duty 22 on their xbox three! All my friends are stupid luddites, why won't they upgrade their whole console just to play the new version whose maps and gameplay is identical? Why is everyone such a luddite?

A belief system based on the rejection of technology, originally referencing English textile workers in the 19th century that destroyed machinery due to lower wages, now it's a term that has been adopted by those with anti-technology beliefs, such as anarcho-primitivists, kaczynskists, etc

Person 2: Nah, I'm a luddite, these gadgets are meaningless distractions intended to keep us trapped in and subservient to the techno-industrial system

A person who dares to have nuanced views about AI (artificial intelligence) and weighs the benefits and downsides of AI use depending on the circumstances, instead of being fully for or against AI use.

A luddite generally claims things were "just fine" back in the day, and refuses to replace/update failing equipment/software/computers on the basis that they were just fine 10 years ago.
