What is bollywood?
The Indian film industry, where the films are in Hindi- the national language of India. Previously consisted of poorly done movies, with people dancing around trees and performing corny action stunts.
However, thankfully, the standard of bollywood has risen, with believable,fun movies and catchy songs.
Oh, and a fact I'd like to clear up:
# It isn't trying to leach off the name of Hollywood. Maybe it's copied it's name, but it isn't trying to pass off as the better version, or poor mans version of hollywood. I watch both kinds, and I assure you - they are very,very different. The bollywood stars do not get worldwide recognition, but the population of India is so large, that I'm sure they feel largely recognized anyway.

Bollywood - what is it?
The Indian version of Hollywood. The letter 'B' in Bollywood comes from India's richest city, Bombay (now known as Mumbai). Bollywood is the world's biggest film industry and is famous worldwide.
Bollywood was created back in 1899, unlike Hollywood, which some people claim that Hollywood came before Bollywood. Hollywood was created in 1910.
Bollywood has the best exotic, captivating movies which everyone around the world love to watch. Cinemas in Korea also show Bollywood movies, and they are a big success there.
People from all around the world love to sing and dance to Indian Bollywood songs.
Bollywood produces over 1000 films per year and the songs are just so good.

What does "bollywood" mean?
1) An entitled, nonsensical mafia-run mix of hypocrites such as Casting-Couch moralists, illiterate intellectuals, item-girl feminists and meat-eating environmentalists pretending to be actors. In a way, like Hollywood.
2) Entertainment w*ores who often act as spin doctors and propagandists (often, Hinduphobic) on social media for a quick buck. They have absolutely no qualms about stepping on their country and peole just to get attention. Very far removed from morality.

Bollywood - what does it mean?
The H of Hollywood was replaced by the B of Bombay. It has no meaning besides branding movies from India as a BOLLYWOOD PRODUCTION. Non-existent place with no signs of warning(unlinke the famous Hollywood) and is just another name for Bombay(Mumbai).
Person 1: Did you see that Bollywood star-filled concert last night?
Person 2: Who could miss such an exciting BOLLYWOOD event?
