ADD means attention deficit disorder it really sucks... even though it is kinda fun yelling stuff out randomly when i don't take my meds... well anywho it pretty much is where you cannot focus on tasks and really would rather draw on everything or whatever than listen to a teacher talk about random school crap i would know the teacher VIDEO TAPED me in second grade saying i was messed up and never payed attention to her then i got sent to a psyciatrist who thought i was like 3 when i was like 7 and then got sent to the psyco docter i have now who says if i ever look like a goth he'll kick me out hes like crazy and he keeps trying to get me entirely off ADD meds because he said it should be gone by now but isnt and on my medicine file in the nurses office at school it says adhd but i don't and now i'm rambling and in conclusin when you have add you have to take a shitload of medicine and all my friends with ADD don't need medicine anymore but i still do oh and i guess if you have it when youre little its supposed to go away eventually but mines not and its not just people trying to get attension theres people (like me) with a serious problem with focusing i almost failed second grade because i was always distracted!!!!!! so those who just say oh i have add when you don't thats making fun of the people who really have add and i would just tell off everyone around me who does that but the crazy doctor gave me all this medicine and it totally destroys my personality and makes me unhappy and boring and i never talk it SUCKS to have ADD you don't want it so don't joke about having it and the medicine keeps you up all night

Add - what is it?
ADD is a disorder that only 10% of people are diagnosed with. The rest of the people just say they have it to be funny. If everyone has add then why is more then half the population bitchin about all the people that are diagnosed with it? by the way, did you know that it just so happens that when a kid with add takes ritalin it slows him down when on the other hand when a kid w/o add takes it they get hyper like they're on speed. But that must be a coincidence.
Kid w/o add trying to be funny and cool: Kids with add only have it becuase their parents can't their kid is retarded. im only saying this because it makes me feel like a bigger amn when i make fun of people. Im gonna go wack of to my mirror and wish that i had a life
What does "add" mean?
Contrary to popular belief, it is not just a lame excuse for misbehaving children. While it is sometimes labeled as so by people who don't know what they are talking about, it is an actual disorder that has more effects besides misbehavior, including difficulty concentrating and restlessness, and should not be discounted amongst cynics with nothing better to do than whine on the internet.
I am a 16-year-old with ADHD that really does have difficulty concentrating who takes medication that does actually help, and is not called ritilin.
Add - what does it mean?
Attention Deficit Disorder is a REAL disorder that every douche bag and their mom likes to PRETEND they have. Either to score meds or to gain the sympathy of others, while the other half of the world likes to pretend it's all a big joke.
"It really sucks not being able to focus on the hobbies/things I like to do, I'd like to be able to pass Math but it's really hard for me to understand because everything I try to learn in class seems to just slip past me. Thank god for whoever the hell invented this medication that helps me slow down my train of thought and focus so I can do better! Too bad everyones going to think I'm faking it when I say I have ADD"
When you add 4 and 5 you get 9
teacher : have you done your homework ?
A legitimate mental disability often viewed as a made up excuse for poor performance in school (which it frequently is.) It is natural for children to display signs of ADD, this does not however mean they are afflicted. It means they are normal, well-balanced human beings. Symptoms generally fade in the early teens; if by 15 an individual's condition persists or worsens, they may (but not always) be justly diagnosed. However, for those who genuinely suffer, the clarity of mind the medication can provide is priceless and worth irritating fakers who discredit the illness.
While his fellow students have learned to concentrate on assignments, Alex remains unable to focus on the simplest task.
A mental disorder affecting many Americans. Symptoms include: becoming easily distracted, problems keeping focus in conversations, blurting out, frequent careless mistakes, avoiding tasks that require sustained mental effort (homework, studying, etc), giving effortless and undivided attention to topics the subject enjoys.
Ahhhhh crap, I really have ADD and can't focus on a day-to-day basis without my medicine. I have good days and bad days, but with my medicine I have continued focus. Thank you to whoever created this medicine that allows me to function on a 'normal' level daily.
While the term ADD, or attention-deficit disorder, has become increasingly popular among laypersons,
Some professionals use the term ADD to refer to the predominantly inattentive type of ADHD.
