Definder - what does the word mean?

What is ADHD?

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.. Over diagnosed Learning disability. For those that really are ADHD it sucks. The people that are "normal" take adderall, ritalin etc to study for tests while we have to take it every fucking day just so we can sit through class without getting distracted by the lamest things.

Person without ADHD:
"I took an adderall/ritalin/concerta/strattera to study for my test thats today..I could possibly kill myself using this but who cares at least I get a good grade"
Person with ADHD:
"Get a fucking life.... I have to take it everyday so I can be normal"

What does "ADHD" mean?

An absolute gift from god that lets a small sample of people have the ability to actually see this generations version of "normal" for the mundane bullshit it is. If it was for people like this, its likely the word would stay put, and advancments in science and art would never happen. Usally a person with ADHD already "gets" wtf a teacher is saying 2 minutes into her elementary boring ass lesson, and their brains branch to deeper thoughts that need answering, vice the simple bullshit that is still, and will continue to come of her mouth for the next 5 days.

Teacher: O.K. class so today where going to learn a deep and interesting subject about the solar system. So we have all the planets, around the sun.....

*While the rest of the class wrestles to grasp this simple shit*

Timmy's ADHD mind: How do we know that, who said so, whats stopping us from going there, who found this out, Hubble telescope? How do we know that pictures are the same in space as they are on the planet. How much funding does NASA get?

Teacher: Timmy why don't you sit and pay attention, raise your hand, and do you work quietly like the rest of the class.

Timmy: Well Ma'am, if I was as stupid as the rest of these idiots I would, and if you weren't as stupid as you are, you'd give me somethin TO ACUALLY LEARN.

ADHD - what does it mean?

ADHD(Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder) is a mental disorder where the prefrontal cortex part of the brain is underdeveloped, so it produces less dopamine and norepinephrine than an average brain. This makes concentrating and remembering things difficult and can sometimes lead to hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattentiveness. Treatment includes counseling along with medications like Adderall, Ritalin, and Modafinil. Methiopropamine works too.

Kevin: I have ADHD so I take Ritalin and use a notebook to stay organized.

ADHD - meaning

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a very real disorder that is over diagnosed. People with ADHD have difficulty sitting still, being quiet, and focusing on things at length. These sensations are difficult to explain unless you have them; it is not that the person does not want to focus, or that they are stupid. When someone with ADHD tries to focus on something, the thought often slips away, or is replaced by another thought - minutes later they will realize they have lost focus.

When a person who does not have ADHD takes ADHD medication, they get high. When a person with ADHD takes ADHD medication, they feel calm, and can focus on things for the first time in their lives.

People with behavioral issues unrelated to the disorder (acting out, seeking attention, etc.) are often incorrectly diagnosed with ADHD. People who just want the diagnosis so they can get their hands on ADHD drugs will pretend to have ADHD symptoms, as well. This is very frustrating, as it diminishes the integrity of those who actually have ADHD, and require medicine to be able to function like normal people can.

People with ADHD are often above average in intelligence. When they are given medication and can function without a mental handicap keeping them down, their whole lives can change for the better.

Damaged child: Look at me! Look at me! Give me attention!

Stupid teacher: Oh dear, he must have ADHD.

Drug abuser: Shit man, I need some Adderal.
Hey doctor, um, I'm having trouble focusing, and stuff.

Stupid doctor: Must be ADHD.

Person born with ADHD: I don't know why it's so difficult to focus in class. This is extremely frustrating, and I just want it to go away.

Intelligent doctor: Here's some Vyvanse. Take one a day, and you will be able to focus like everyone else can.

ADHD - definition

Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder: ADHD can be very misinterpreted, just because you have trouble focusing on homework and have a lot of energy doesn't necessarily mean you have ADHD, is one of the most common childhood disorders and can continue through adolescence and adulthood. Symptoms include difficulty staying focused and paying attention, difficulty controlling behavior, and hyperactivity. If you're sitting at your phone or your computer and you click on random shit because you don't know what to do or if you're too impatient on a screen and you click on whatever shit pops up first, this is impulsive behavior a symptom of ADHD. I think the most misunderstood shit is that people with ADHD can't be smart. Like if you've ever tested ADHD in a place that doesn't understand shit, they'll ask you how you do in school, if you say you're a fuckin good student, they'll automatically assume you don't have ADHD which is total shit.

"ADHD is the hardest shit to overcome"

ADHD - slang

A disorder that can make you fidgety, have trouble remembering things, or just stare off into space. I have it and tbh it doesn’t completely suck

Person: i have adhd
Percy Jackson fan: omg must be a demigod

ADHD

A mental disorder that is poorly understood by many. Contrary to popular belief, people with adhd aren't retarded. They just don't learn like most other people do. This, in turn, pisses off the faculty at school, and they make everyone around you aware of of your disorder, and since your non adhd classmates don't understand your disorder either, you'll be labeled as different, guaranteeing that you'll be made fun of multiple times. Despite this, adhd people tend to be more intelligent than those who do well in public schools. They don't pay attention in class because guess what stupid teachers? Your class is useless to them and boring as shit, not because they suck at learning. Most kids with adhd are highly creative. After the hell they endure at school, they usually go on to be successful at life and never look back. Famous examples of these people: Albert Einstein, Jim carrey, Pete rose (baseball legend), will smith, Michael phelps (Olympic gold medalist swimmer), robin Williams (RIP), Walt Disney, and way too many people to list have adhd and go on to do incredible things.

Teacher at school: WHAT?!?! Your son has ADHD?!?! Oh, we can help him.

Teacher in class: ...and that's why 5,552X is parallel with 9,467Y. (Half the class is asleep) hey...uh... Kid with adhd! Solve the next problem! What is 3,758Y equivalent to?

Student with adhd: uh...I... I honestly don't know, mrs. Richards.

Teacher: are you that stupid?! We went over this yesterday! Twice! You should be paying attention like everyone else is! (Even though no one actually is) do this 10 page packet so I don't have to fail you! *whole class laughs at him*

Kid with adhd in 20 years: I love living in Hawaii! I'm so glad that people outside of school appreciated my creativity! Now I can rest easy knowing I found the cure for cancer!

ADHD

ADHD is a very real disorder that stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. People with this disorder tend to have difficulty focusing on a certain task and sitting still.

Don't mistake them for being dumb though, in fact it's quite the opposite. Their thoughts tend to wander off, but it allows them to have an easier grasp at understanding a topic at different angles and allows them to question it deeper. Their thoughts just sometimes wander a bit TOO far off, giving their own little world.

They can definitely do the task at hand, they understand it perfectly, they just tend to get distracted.

Think of it this way. A normal person's mind is a dimly lit room, with a single flashing light telling them where to go. People with ADHD, however, have a mind filled with flashing lights, all telling them that each and every one of them are important. The person with ADHD can see the brightest light, and know that it's the one they must go to, but it's hard to tell with all the flashing beams because they all collide with the main one. Sometimes they think that they're following the right light, but realize later that they are off task and that they must get to the one that shines the brightest.

There was a whole other draft where both the definition and the examples were about 1000 words over the limit because every thing i said was me rambling about adhd and me constantly adding things to the stuff already written because my brain thought of it and then said to do it so i did it

it does that constantly

there's a mistake in the last sentence of the second paragraph because i went to write something else before finishing it before i forgot the idea completely and then came back to finish it with new ideas in mind

i just thought 10 things in the past 5 seconds and i forgot all of them because i decided that i was gonna write "i just thought of 10 things in the past 5 seconds."

Adhd! :)

ADHD

A disorder related to hyperactivity and distraction.

I have it, and I know I'm not an expert. I'm just saying, I speak from experience when I say it's freaking hard to get one thing done all at once. You usually get distracted by something else, and then eventually come back to that first task.
This doesn't mean you can't get something done, it just means that work typically takes a lot longer because you're inclined to go look something up or do something RIGHT that second. Hell, I'm procrastinating right now making this definition when I'm supposed to be doing biology homework.

I shouldn't even have to acknowledge these people, but to everyone who thinks that all people with ADHD are stupid are seriously wrong. Most people with ADHD are gifted.

Sometimes when you go out to night parties after your meds have worn off, you act hyper without noticing it. But it's fun hyper, not annoying hyper. At least that's what my friends tell me ;)
Anyway, sometimes the next day when you're on your meds again, you just remember glimpses of the previous night because everything was a big distracting, stimulating blur.
Oh, "ADHD". my example has to include the word apparently.
