YIES - what is it?
A word used to greet someone. A combination of "yo" and "hi." It rhymes with "hi." It was popularized by underground east coast legends Illustrious C and Queue of Legion of Doom fame.
"Yi, holmes. What's crackin'?"
What does "YIES" mean?
The word "yes", but said "yis". Originated in Olean, NY, where the slang quickly spread like wildfire. The legend has it, a man named barf was first to say this, but the story is not 100% confirmed.
