the most gettho, run down , dusty places in South Carolina. Living here will make you wanna crawl back in tha womb. if you were born here , your definitely gonna die here. if you live here your either on Crack or hearoin. and you live in campers.

Spartanburg - what is it?
Where the rich come together and do some crazy shit together. Nevermore there are many diverse people in Spartanburg High and where ever you look there is someone waiting to tackle you and get ready to take on an adventure.

What does "Spartanburg" mean?
A two-part paradox.
1) One half of the population of this town exemplify the glorious southern heritage of which one should be proud to have. These are generally the individuals who make it out of Spartanburg for high school and college education. (However, there are exceptions, but not likely). These people know how to shag, hold a door for a lady, what fork to use, and how many pieces of ice should accompany a fine glass of scotch.
On the other side...
2) One half of the population is the epitome of backward America - where individuals in college still try to fight others in groups, or because someone did something to them 8 years ago in Junior High. Pathetic people at their worst. These are those who have been consumed by the Spartanburg syndrome to live off your parents and not leave Spartanburg for any form of intellectual curiosity - i.e. education. These folks make me sick to be from this happy, inviting little town which is home of the The Beacon.
Def. 1) - I don't rely on mommy and daddy and still live at home year round, but strive for accomplishment.
Def. 2) - I went to Spartanburg High with all of Spartanburg. Half of my graduating class went to South Carolina, A fourth went to Clemson, an eighth went to C of C, an eighth went to the Citadel - I opted to do nothing. I work at Shred First and go to Gerhardt's every night and get fat. I suck at life.

To have your face covered in shit by another individual and then immediately run into your room and cry without washing. The steamer is often preceded by the Hot Swank.

Spartanburg - slang
The one and only. There's no other place like it. Home of six colleges, five within city limits. Sometimes called the "Detroit of the South" due to the presence of BMW and other automotive related companies. Also, statistically the most cosmopolitan city of its size due to the diversity of the culture. Not much in the way of nightlife, but what there is, is great. Plenty of restaurants. Almost everyone who's born there leaves, experiences the world, then comes back home. It's the place everyone wants to leave when they're young, and the place to raise your family and live when they're older.
You gotta see Spartanburg to appreciate it!
