What is Metal Head?
Some of these descriptions area little bland so I'm going to try and tie up the loose ends. Metal Head attire isn't really necessary, though due to the music they listen to this generally defines their fashion. A band t-shirt supporting a band of either thrash, death, heavy or shred metal is usually seen, from the older forty plus year old metal heads, right down to the younger generation. Pants aren't that important and generally they adopt a set of baggy jeans, camo cargos or anything they can find such as old black slacks. Though Metal Heads are very defensive of their musical tastes they also respect certain alternate rockers, mainly for their instrumental expertise (Vai, Satriani, Herman Li, Yngwie Malmsteen). Hair is usually shaven or grown long, often left greasy. Facial hair may include a beard or clean shaven - though as before, nothing is definate. Shoes are generally a set of black pumps (generally not converse) or dark shades of skate shoes. Coats are often seen, either a dark green or camo with some adopting a leather jacket style attire with metal parts. They often have a tight knit group of friends, around 3 to 5 in number who they are most probably part of a band with and take part in recreational activities such as going to gigs and sitting around talking in town. Though calm they can be extremely strong when antagonised and Neds should never mistake a Metal Head for an emo, whom they despise for bringing down an entire sub-culture of metal into an abyss of pop. They generally have a good sense of humour and once befriended become a strong accomplice. Most real metal heads hate Nu-metal for dipping its feet into the pop-culture and will offend any music related to it or simply shun it away. (System of a Down, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, K0rn, NOFX, Green Day...)
Heavy metal bands - Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath etc
Thrash metal bands - Old School Metallica, Megadeth, Mastodon etc
Death/Heavy metal bands - Slayer, Pantera, Damageplan. Meshuggah, Iced Earth, Children of Bodom, Cannibal Corpse.
Alternate/Progressive metal/neo-classical - Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Rhapsody, Dragonforce, Yngwie Malmsteen, Dream Theatre.
These are a collection of the usual music influences Metal Head's have.

Metal Head - what is it?
One that listens to all the Metal genre. Metal heads can and could be classified as a typical down to earth person, when turned upon are dangerous and can be harmful as the music they listen to can be the drive for adrenaline and fury when needed. Clothing can range from old to new styles or a combination of the 2. Old can be seen as blue jeans and leather jackets while as the new holding on to the band T-shits or jackets to dark pants as in between light blue pants with dark colored T-shirts. Always doing there own thing most verbal conflict does not effect can usaully hold temper in and burts it all out in an effective act of compulsion and agression, often times scares the the opposer and shows of the "No Fear" attitude. Knows when and what they are Capable when they knwo they can lose a fight they will jump in anyway to show how they will not back down. Can take a beating even if they are weak. Small i numbers but can take on multiple waves of people on there own with no regards for the stakes at risk. Very protective of there friends and can and will die for them when threatened. Despises most cultures "Emo, Pop, some Metal heads dislike hardcore(for reasons of the style of mosh is 'fighting invisible ninjas' or common rivalry between the genres as hardcore kids out number the metal heads)". Open to all ideas and is very conservative on most things. Truely unique people for they can differ from most personalities ranging from hyper and agressive to calm and faint. not many in skools or even out since the musichas died since the ninities, listens to most underground music of the genre and is always looking for new bands to get there hands on and headbang to (will even show there affection for thetre music even if not listening to it and will use lil head wips to as the song is stuck in there head)

What does "Metal Head" mean?
A metal head is someone who likes metal. No questions. No classifications on what you have to do to be a metal head. People specify what bands are not metal, that's just wrong. It doesn't have to be Lamb Of God, or Pantera. It could Slipknot, Slipknot is metal. It's a mixture. Anything that is metal IS metal. Almost all of my friends listen to rap and totally misinterpret it, except for two. Not all metal heads like fights. I HATE fights. You don't have to freaking like heavy metal to be a metal head. I listen to melodic metalcore, like Trivium, KSE, and sometimes Slipknot ( Not really melodic but I listen to it)

A Metal Head is a fan of metal music. Just remember music comes from the saul, not the How To Be Cool section of the paper.

Metal Head - meaning
One who listens to Metal. Identified by their style and/or behavior:
Seen wearing a black band t-shirt or a similar dark color, blue to black jeans, shaved head to long hair, metal spikes or studs around the arms, neck, and waist.
The typical Metal Head sticks pretty strictly the Underground Music. However, many Metal Heads are very open-minded musically.
Metal Heads, no matter what the size, are efficient fighters. That metal on his person doubles as armor. Also, those lyrics don't just go in one ear and out the other. They stay in there and unleash a fury of hatred and adrenaline when triggered. Often times carries a knife or shank just waiting to use it on anyone that challenges them.
While dangerous or violent, most Metal Heads are some of the friendliest most down to Earth guys you'll ever meet.

Metal Head - definition
A Metal Head is a person who listens to Death, Thrash, Speed, Black, Shred, and maybe Melodic Metal. Most wont listen to Alt or Nu-Metal and will probably shun it. There is no definate set of clothing attire but most can be seen wearing some type of jeans ranging from blue to black, also most likely have on a band shirt with either long hair or a shaved head, if they have facial hair it will most likely be a med-big beard or a goatee. A common mistake is that people tend to call them Satanic because of the music they listen to, this is not true. Yes, a metal head may be Satanic but this is simply a coincidence. They often fight, mainly for one of four reasons:
1: They have been having a bad day and you get in their way, say something wrong, etc.
2: They are in a good/content mood and you do something to provoke/anger them
3: They have had anger bottled up for a while and can no longer stand it, thus lashing out at anybody.
and finally the fourth reason
4: Simply because they like to fight. That being said its generally not the best idea to pick a fight with a metal head because whether they look it or not they are most likely a good fighter. They have a tight-knit group of friends, whom they are loyal to and share a good connection with. They are educated and civil, contrary to popular belief.

One who listens to music for it's talent. The artists may be everyone from Bach and Mozart, to Arch Enemy and Iron Maiden. They believe that the so called "Class system" and "social status" are just labels that the insecure people in society have created to seperate themselves and make them feel superior. If a metal-head weres a shirt and is asked why, they will say "Cus I like it" NOT "Cus I'm a metal-head" True Metal heads will not say such things. Generally very accepting over different ways of life with a strong sense of moral and honor.

Kay, I'm sick of looking at the difinitions of how a metal head lives, that's like trying to describe how to make a cake. A metal head is someone who listens to metal. That's all there is to it. You need not to dress a certain way to be a metal head, this isn't MTV, you feckin clowns. You don't need to wear hoodies or ripped jeans and have long hair to be a metal head, you could shop at JC Penny and still listen to metal. By stating a lifestyle of a metal head, just makes it a potential fad. 'Metal Head', like any other subculture is just a title.

A metal Head is anyone who listens to, and loves metal music. Sub-genres are not a factor. Clothing is not a factor. Whether you hate everything is not a factor. Whether you just like the older metal bands, or the newer ones doesn't matter either. To be a fucking metal head, all you have to fucking do is love metal music. Thats fucking it.
