What is Matrix?
1) Noun. A computer program that was designed by A.I. robots to divide the attention of humans away from the real world, where robots farm humans for a power source stronger than electricity.
2)Verb. A slang term for doing one of the stunts seen in the movie The Matrix, The Matrix: Reloaded or The Matrix: Revoloutions, such as running up a wall or dodging something heading for you by leaning back quickly.

What does "Matrix" mean?
MATRIX (Multistate Anti-TeRrorism Information eXchange) A data mining program and surveillance system that combines information about individuals from government databases and private-sector data companies. It then makes those dossiers available for search by government officials and combs through the millions of files in a search for “anomalies” that may be indicative of terrorist or other criminal activity.
The actual Matrix is step one of the movie Matrix.

For the rest of that population, the matrix is a two-dimensional array.
Outside that population it's a Scifi/fantasy movie.

A simulated dimension powered by advanced technology, such as a super-computer. (Also known as a 'metaverse').
e.g: 'Many alien god theorists say that the gods were physical humanoid extraterrestrials who were so technologically advanced that they scientifically created their own matrix and moved into it where they became conscious divine holograms, but most mortals confused their matrix as a magical realm, because they didn't understand how its state of being was scientifically possible.'
(Notes: A matrix could be inside a device / computer (ie. a contained matrix) or a merged dimension outside of one (ie. an uncontained matrix). An uncontained matrix would be powered by all the stars, through advanced technology.
