A person that you would also refer to as a loser. Generally directed at mates when they say or do something ridiculously idiotic. Can also say someone is 'kookin it' if they are doing something dumb, like re-dating their bimbo ex-girlfriend.

Kook - what is it?
The term “kook” was founded in Saline, Michigan by a group of friends in order to avoid using vulgar and offensive language. The term can be used as a verb or a noun as the act of sexual intercourse or getting extremely fucked up, doing ignorant shit, and probably snapping your friend’s younger sisters. The term in singular form is simply a penis.
As this group of friends grew up, the word stuck with them and as they left high school and went all over the country to different universities, “kook” spread as well.

A person who is socially challenged in the most common social gatherings. They often feel the need to put themselves out in the open and bring attention to themselves by: speaking about topics they know little or none about, trying their very hardest to fit in when they don't, using words such as "dude, totally, gnarly, and far out" all in one sentence, ride long-board skateboards and push with their FRONT foot (Whomper Style), or someone who looks up the definition of kook... probably because you were called one.

Non-kook: A person being honest about their surfing ability. Honestly expresses their surfing ability. Does NOT drop in on other surfers or snake them. Follows the rules of the lineup.
