Es - meaning
Refers to the person you are talking to or talking about. It takes the place of words like "fool,""nigga,"and "dog" when used on the streets by youth. In 2007 it is mostly used by gang members or by people refering to Mexican American gang members, but not exclusively. The word was used long before the Mexican Mafia, or surenos, existed. Pachucos, Mexican American zoot suiters of the 1940s, used the word ese in Los Angeles, Tucons, El Paso, San Jose, Albuquerque, Gilroy to name a few documented locations. The possessive form of En is 'Es'.
En means 'the being'. A being is any entity who has, or has ever had a consciousness. En is used to replace he or she or it or their (singular). En is also used to replace him, her (non-possessive) and them (singular). En is very useful in replacing a character's name when describing them. En is also useful in labelling any person or other being whose gender is unknown or irrelevant. Animals should be referred to as he, she, him, her or en - never 'it'.
