Definder - what does the word mean?

What is DragonForce?

1. The greatest band in the history of the Universe. Their fast and complex guitar rhythms are sure to amaze. They are possibly the only ones who can defeat Dethklok in a battle of the bands.

2. The strongest metal known to Man. Even harder than Diamond

1. DragonForce is the best at anything they do. Even Croquet.

2. A bullet made of pure DragonForce would rip a hole through space and time.

DragonForce - what is it?

Shitty band made up of shitty musicians. All they ever do is play scales extremely fast, and throw a few thrash pieces in. They are only popular because of Guitar Hero 3 Legends Of Rock, released in 2007. all though they were asked to be inserted into the game, they still have no talent... unless you call being a douche-fag a talent, then yeah... but if you ever listen to more than 3 of their songs, you will notice that all their somns are exactly the same... 23 sweeps (all the same), a pattern of 5 power-chords, and more sweeps... so if you are ok with listening to the same stuff over and over and over and over, then i recomend dragonforce.

"Oh my gosh! Have you played Guitar Hero 3?"
"Why yes i have..."
"I love the last song by Dragonforce"
"That song sucks"
"Oh yeah!? Well i can beat it on expert with 99%"

What does "DragonForce" mean?

A Power Metal band. Most people that hate DragonForce have only heard their 1 popular song and don't actually know anything else about them, but just NEED to hate them. People that have actually seen them live and not on videos, would probably all agree they're great. And they are.

DragonForce is great.

DragonForce - what does it mean?

A Power Metal band, albeit a pitiful excuse for one, which has risen in popularity due to the fact that they can play exceptionally fast. Though their sound is faster than that of many other power bands, instrumentally the songs become repetitive and the lyrics bland. This speed causes many to assume they are the β€œbest” in light of the fact that many other power metal bands such as Blind Guardian, Sonata Arctica, Rhapsody of Fire, Luca Turilli, HammerFall, and Edguy are far superior lyrically, vocally, and stylistically.

Unenlightened fool: OMG DragonForce is teh best band evar!

Laughter is then emitted by a knowledgeable Einherjar towards said unenlightened fool.

DragonForce - meaning

An Overrated Power/Extreme Metal Band. The Singer Sounds Like His Balls never dropped when he was a teenager. Although they are make good studio music, their live performances are sloppy and just plain bad. They play out of Key, And herman li cannot play his own solos live. They have become famous and very popular through studio magic but in reality are pretty dismal musicians compared to the likes of megadeth and slayer

DragonForce Fan Before Concert: OMG! DragonForce rock!! I cant wait to see them live !!

DragonForce Fan after Concert: I cant believe i wasted money going to this concert, they cant play their own songs!

DragonForce - definition

Ok, now I'm going to approach this from a different angle than most people who dislike DragonForce. Yes, I've heard many of their songs. I don't care about the lyrics (even if he does sound like a 12 year old) but hey, it works. People seem to worship this band because it has fast instrumentals, but people please! Every song I hear by them is EXACTLY same as the last song, they change about 5 damn notes and give it a different title. Yes, they can play the guitar, and very well, but it's all just repititive power metal which makes the whole metal genre look bad. If you want to hear a kick ass super fast guitar riff, go listen to Terror Train by Demons & Wizards.

On a side note, Blind Guardian kicks DragonForces ass. Sorry it's true.

DragonForce fan: "Man this is song is awesome"
*30 minutes pass
DragonForce fan: "Wait didn't I hear this 30 minutes ago? ...WTF is going on here!!!"
Me: Told you so.

DragonForce - slang

What everyone thinks power metal is like...

Me - "Have you heard of Symphony X, Blind Guardian or Dark Moor?"

Moron who watches MTV - "Are they like DragonForce?"

Me - "Yeahh....except imagine competant song-writing, better themes, no whammy pedal, and sloppiness reduced by 100%".

DragonForce

1. The most intense band in the history of man. Their music (if it can be called that, for it is truly much greater than mere "music") contains a power so great that it can consume one's soul.

I'll mess myself if DragonForce comes to the United States.

DragonForce

An international power metal band based in England. They are composed of six members from 5 different countries over 3 continents. They label themselves as "extreme power metal" because they incorportate elements of speed metal and thrash metal into their songs, and as of their latest album, Inhuman Rampage, they have added harsh backing vocals that can be heard on songs such as "Revolution Deathsquad". They replaced their drummer before the recording of "Inhuman Rampage" with Dave Mackintosh, formerly of England's symphonic black metal band, "Bal-Sagoth". Their songs are incredibly fast, although there is at least one obligatory "power ballad" on each of their albums. Most of their songs are at least 5 minutes long, with several around minutes in length. They are known for their energetic stage performances, and for their excessive alcohol consumption during concerts. This does not affect their ability to play, but the lead guitarist, Herman Li of Hong Kong, has been known to trip and fall on stage. They cite many classic metal bands as influences, such as Iron Maiden, and played at OzzFest in 2006. They have three major releases so far: The Valley of the Damned (2003), Sonic Firestorm (2004), and Inhuman Rampage (2006). Their first concert in the United States was cancelled due to the fact that they were lacking proper Visas, but they eventually played in April of 2006 at the Worcester Palladium in Massachusetts at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival. They played second to last, with the last band playing being Gamma Ray.

Comparable bands to their style roughly include the following:
HammerFall, Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Dragonland, Angra, Rhapsody of Fire, and Demons & Wizards.

DragonForce is a highly talented band. If they are not "heavy enough" for you, or if the vocals bother you, then you should not be listening to power metal. People with no knowledge of music dismiss them along with all other power metal bands for having fantasy inspired lyrics, because they are most likely too obsessed with rap lyrics about homicide, drug dealing, and fornication.
