What is Brooks Brothers?

One of the only good brands of clothing not overtaken by GDIs.

Sorostitute: Wow, you actually look classy and not like a douche with that golden fleece on your shirt. Brooks Brothers is a good company. Want to have sex?
Fratdaddy: Yes.

Brooks Brothers - what is it?

One of the few high-quality clothing companies for serious hardworking businessmen, not obnoxious drug-addicted preppies. It's a well-kept secret, and will hopefully remain that way!

I just got a beautiful Seersucker Suit at Brooks Brothers.

What does "Brooks Brothers" mean?

A fine retailer of traditional clothing for every occasion. Started in New York, the Brooks brothers sold suits of unrivaled calibre. As the clothing gained popularity, the chain grew and began offering a wider array of clothes. In the latter half of the Twentieth Century, Ralph Lauren bought out Brooks Brothers Polo line and established himself as another traditional clothing retailer. Ralph Lauren Polo still retains many of its roots to Brooks Brothers in its more traditional clothing but has also veered into the the more contemporary genre. Brooks Brothers, meanwhile, has become one of the great bastions of traditional clothing, for men and women of fine taste who above all value class over whim. A tradition that is passed down through families that identifies those with traditional roots.

I bought a fine seersucker suit at Brooks Brothers because I liked the suits my father bought from there during my youth.

Brooks Brothers - what does it mean?

An outfitter of fine, traditional American clothing for casual, business, and formal settings. Founded in New York City in 1818, it is the oldest men's clothier in the United States.

Headquartered on New York's Madison Avenue, Brooks Brothers has exerted considerable influence over fashion, particular preppy fashion and professional attire. Some of its earliest history involves its outfitting New York state troopers during the Civil War and introducing the ready-to-wear suit to American consumers. Brooks Brothers stores opened on Northeastern college campuses in the mid-twentieth century, influencing the traditional collegiate style of dress, also known as the Ivy League style or "trad," which is the root of preppy fashion.

Today, Brooks Brothers outfits both men and women with stores around the world. It maintains itself as a influential force in fashion with contemporary and traditional New York styles that have lasted the test of time.

Today at the Brooks Brothers store on Madison Avenue, I bought a repp tie I'll wear for work and a tweed jacket for tonight's dinner.
