Boondock Saints - what is it?
Fraternal twins Conner (Flanery) and Murphey (Reedus) MacMannus are on a mission from God to rid Boston of crime. However, instead of signing up for the police force, these hard-drinking Irish-American brothers take the law into their own hands. Heralded as saints by the city's beleaguered residents, the brothers also attract the attention of Paul Smecker (Defoe), the openly gay FBI special agent assigned to investigate the spate of killings amongst the ranks of the Russian mafia.

What does "Boondock Saints" mean?
Bottom line is, its a kickass and original movie defintitely worth the time to sit down and watch and more than likely you will totally enjoy it.
Don't listen to the moron's post above in which he basically calls the movie a sellout. He is just a plain person that trys to make his individuality through likeing movies that very few other people know about because he thinks that makes him cool. If the movie kicks ass then who gives a shit what other people think or how many other people like it.

A good movie that has become highly overrated. It's solid, but it is far from one of the best movies of all time. Some time ago, one could have enjoyed this movie, but now it has become annoying beyond all Hell because all the "cool" kids constantly quote it, force it into daily conversation, pimp it out, and call you a lame fuckhead with no taste if you say "Dude, it's getting fucking annoying now".
You know those people that constantly make reference jokes to The Matrix whenever somebody talks about philosophy or existence? Yeah, it's about as bad as that shit.
And no, it is not the origin of "fuck ass". This is just another example of people giving this movie far more credit than it deserves.
ADDED: Oh yeah, I like how everybody has wildly misinterpreted my definition and are now making personal attacks and assumptions against me. At least I now know that I've struck a nerve and have exposed the idiots on this site. :D:D:D
Hopefully the Boondock Saints sequel will blow, that way everybody will get the fuck off of the bandwagon.

Boondock Saints - meaning
A good but not great movie. People who don't know anything about movies think its one of the greatest movies of all time. It has cool parts and its better than average, but there are about a billion better movies. I would rather kill myself than watch this again and Ive watched it about 3 times. If you think this is the greatest movie ever it just means you dont pay attention to certain aspects of movie direction and you are not quite a film buff. its ok though, because being a true film buff prevents you from enjoying 99% of movies. but just because you fantasize about enforcing justice yourself with guns does not mean the movie is good. you might as well say transformers is good because you fantasize about having big robot friends. just because you like the concept doesnt mean the actual movie is good

Boondock Saints
A movie about 2 Irish vigalantes who enlist a friend to help them rid Boston of as many evil-doers as they can. Lots of cussing, but very quotable lines. The second one isn't as good as the first, but you should still check it out.

The Boondock Saints is my favorite movie because it inspires thought, has humor, it's a different aspect of film because there is no hidden romantic agenda with a woman with one of the brothers, neither of the brothers die to over-do the dramatics... there is enough dramatic in it with roccos death that it doesnt need anymore. it is a perfect example of a classic film that everyone should watch.
if all the popular kids like it and quote it and it gets annoying- that doesnt mean the movie isnt good that just means that they want to be even more popular and they want to be in... has NOTHING to do with how good the movie is or any of the such... some people shouldnt let other people decide what movies are good and which ones arent... i like the movie because it is a good fu**ing movie, not because some people DONT know about it... and if more people know about it i will be even more stoked because then when all saints day comes out they will make the right amount of money and recognition for such a great story line and film... *cough emo rebel cough*
