What is Biafra?
Former frontman for The Dead Kennedys, before the band split due to being persecuted by Tipper Gore for including the Giger artwork "Penis Landscape" with their Frankenchrist album (although you can still send off the coupon included to own it if you want to).
Since then has gone on to be a well reknowned spoken word artist/activist with several CDs to his name (Become the Media, Machine Gun in the Clown's Hand etc.) and even a Presidential candidate for the Green party. However, the rest of his former band are intent on suing him for not selling out and using classic DK standard Holiday in Cambodia in a Levis commercial.
Also worked with Ministry in the Lard side project, and has featured on tracks for bands as diverse as Pitchshifter, Sepultura and The Presidents of the USA, with a few acting credits as well.
Let's face it - no matter what he does, he'll always be remembered for being the bloke that sang Too Drunk to Fuck...

What does "Biafra" mean?
Frontman for political punk band The Dead Kennedys. Jello is a huge corporation that makes non-nutritional foods. Basically food that you don't need. Biafra was a place in Africa that doesn't have any food, and suffers of mass starvation. Atleast it once was, I'm not sure if it still exists. Jello Biafra was put together for the irony. They're starving, we spend millions on food that hurts us more than helps us.
Jello Biafra is a very politcal, yet humurous person.

That man is politically and intellectually informed. And funny while at it. Then the eastern people of Nigerians were called Biafrans when they rebelled against Nigeria and form their own soverignty.
Biafrans are people of the eastern part of Nigeria mostly Igbos.
Background
In 1967, Igbos and other eastern part of Nigeria, lead by then Col. Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu declared eastern Nigeria a Sovereign state of Biafra. This led to the three years Nigerian-Biafran Civil war in which millions were slaughter in a fight for self-determination. The Nigeria underestimated the young country and thought that the war would last for three weeks. Instead, weeks turned months and months turned years. It took Nigeria three years to defeat Biafra. Biafrans were reintegrated into Nigeria again as One-Nigeria
Most of Nigerian oil reserves are located at the Bright of Biafra. That is why Nigeria went to war with Biafra.

They are still seeking for their freedom Independence from Nigeria. The nationality is Biafran.
