What is 5-4 decision?

Any poorly thought out decision made with little regard to future consequences, such as the ones often made as the result of the many 5-4 decisions passed down by the SCOTUS.

Can also be referred to in the truncated form "5-4."

"Yeah, I slept with Jenna last night. ... Bareback..."
"Dude, that was a 5-4 decision right there."
