What is token white friend?
A white (Caucasian) person in an all POC friend group. It’s just 1 white person and the rest are POC.
Token white friends are generally used for privileges and to make it seem like the POC “friends” aren’t individually racist towards white people. They won’t let their token white friend sit by them at lunch, and ignore them in lunch, or will ask for homework to be done, sometimes money. You also won’t be invited to hang out, go to parties, etc.
The majority in a POC group (majority as in POC) will try to manipulate and take advantage of token white friend, just for privileges.

POC friend: “Uhhh… I forgot..?”
Token white friend: “Ok! I’ll remind you next time. Can we have lunch togethe-“
POC friend: “No, sorry, my table will be full.”

Token white friend: *devious laugh* you fool.
