The refreshed/rebranded version of the HD 7970 GHz Edition, based on the same Tahiti XT2 chip (AMD used the Tahiti XTL one later on). Also a OK GPU to buy in times like this, even though AMD ended support for pre-Polaris GPUs like this one
The R9 280X is still a solid GPU, matching the 1050 Ti even though it has a TDP of 275W

R9 - what is it?
Commonly known as Ronaldo Nazario, R9 is considered to be one of the best strikers ever to play football.
