What is hijita?
Hijita (H is silent, pounced 'eee-taw') means 'young lady' most commonly mistaken with 'hija' (eee-haw) which means 'daughter' It can be used however to mean 'my child' roughly, but most Mexican parents would simply use 'hija' to refer to their daughter..
