Similar to bail, flake, ditch, or escape
1) To show up or make an appearance, but then leave suddenly and/or hastily without notice.
Similar to a 'flake,' but differs in that the person almost follows though only to ditch/bail shortly after. Generally associated with unreliable persons.
2) To leave hastily, generally without notice.
"Sorry I ghosted on you last night. I just didn't feel like being sociable."

Ghosted - what is it?
To get ghosted is when a girl randomly changes her cell number and doesn't tell you what it is. Usually there is a boyfriend involved, and hes not you.
"She ghosted me after her boyfriend found out we were hooking up."
What does "ghosted" mean?
1. To leave a social event without saying good bye.
2. To say you'll be right back or step outside and not come back to the party.
3. To hang out and after not too long of a duration, the person is no where to be found.
Brian's hanging out with his co-workers at the bar and says he's going to step outside to grab a smoke. After sometime, his co-workers realize he never came back.

To be ignored, or not having anyone respond to your opinion and disregarding your remark, leaving you feeling insignificant. Mainly a term that is used on Facebook for trollers who wish to humiliate users when no one comments or likes their statuses.
