He would cast greats like Eddie Murphy, Billy Crystal, and Martin Short in 1986. Lorne returned from then to now. In 1991 the show went back up in the ratings when now comedy gods Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman, and David Spade joined the cast. The house was cleared in 1995 to make way for cast members such as Will Farrell, Derrel Hammod, Jimmy Fallon and Molly Shannon. Between 1996 and 2002 the show went thorugh a period that bested its first 5 years. The show still airs today on NBC at 11:30 PM on Saturday SNL is one of the greatest comedy shows ever created. |
