What is REM?
Acronym for Random Ensemble Member. A member of the chorus in a theatrical production who is not identifiable by a character name or other means.

REM - what is it?
Any electronic message (email or text format) that is inadvertantly sent to the wrong person. This usually results in horrific consequences.
Short for "Rogue Electronic Message"
"John" sent a REM text that was meant for his girl, "Brandy", to his Boss.
"Fred" thanked "Kristi" for a great night last night, except the text went REM to his wife "Karen" whom he was not with last night.
What does "REM" mean?
To sleep in the same bed as someone but not get laid. This is a sure sign that you are on the fast track to "friendship".
Derived from "Rapid Eye Movement" which is the type of sleeping you were doing, i.e. not the copulating kind.
Not to be confused with "rim".

A great alternative rock band that was formed in 1980 by drummer Bill Berry, guitarist Peter Buck, bassist Mike Mills, and vocalist Michael Stipe.
REM kicks ass. "The Great Beyond", "The One I Love", "Imitation of Life", and "Losing My Religion" are among some of their greatest songs.

A band from Georgia USA. Quirky style of music writing. Have been around since early 1980s, have managed to write some excellent songs during that time. Their peak occurred from 1990 to 1992 with the two classic albums 'Out Of Time' and 'Automatic For The People'. They are still writing music which is good in its own right.
And they still play live and kick ass at it too.
