We're sitting in a meeting and our Development Director said "We've contracted some Type R programmers".
I had never heard this term before, so I jotted it down on my notepad, so I could inquire about it later.
Just then our Lead Engineer asks "What is Type R?"
Our Dev Director looked stumped. "What do you mean?"
"You said 'Type R Programmers'" said the Lead Engineer.
"No, I said 'High Powered'." said the Dev Director.
"No you didn't. You said 'Type R.' See I wrote it down." I said, and showed him my notepad that said "Type R?".
So now, everything high powered and awesome in the office is "Type R".
What does "R-type" mean?
Type Racing
Designation of the fastest car model of the Acura (Honda) Integra Lineage. Available in the US from 1997 to 2000. Still available in Japan as the 3rd Gen Integra (RSX in the US) Type R. All versions of the car are probably the fastest Front Wheel Drive cars available at the time. With a VTEC 200HP and 8400 red line engine and true race suspension and brakes, this was and still is a very fast car on a road circuit (means more than left turn).

Type-R is actually a trim line of the Acura Integra but rice boys will apply a Type-R decal to any automobile in order to make it to make it go faster.
Type-R decals are known to add horsepower and torque to any car.

Most import Fanboys have a Type R sticker, it allows them to think they are fast. Some even think it adds horsepower to their low HP vehicles.

A trim line of Honda cars with a highly tuned engine and suspension. Unfortunately, made into a mockery by dumbass ricers who stick Type-R stickers on their Civic DX and Mustang rednecks who are ignorant concerning any car related technology past 1975.
The only true Type-R released in the United States was the Integra Type-R. The line is still sold overseas.

A decent yet overrated shooter.
The story: The evil Bydo aliens threaten to take over Earth. Only some guy in a fighter called the R-9 can destroy the Bydo and save the planet.
The gameplay: The game introduces a unique item called a force pod. It can be attatched to the front or back of the ship and can fire secondary weapons and absorb bullets. It can be detached from the ship allowing it to hit hard-to-reach places with its own bullets. This game series is very difficult and requires intense memorization skills.
R-Type Leo is my favorite R-Type game even though it has different gameplay from other games in the series.
