What is Que cosa?

Literally: 'What thing?"
Colloquially: 'What the fuck?', used to express shock, outrage. Can be used ironically to express a hilarity of the situation.

Used by the Peruvians (Lima) that I've encountered

-and Sancho Pansa consoled him thusly,"Los únicos aquí, son tú y mi." He followed this with a wink, and laid himself beside the sleeping Quixote.
