What does "Northy" mean?

Northie is a music style that means Northern Indie. Northie has it's roots in classic British indie and Brit Pop but is at times more emotional, rootsy and even country inspired. The bands are usually from Sweden, Denmark and Norway and the most influential Northie band to date is Swedish band Eskobar.
