somebody who doesn’t identify within the gender binary and sometimes uses they/them pronouns

Nonbinary - what is it?
Nonbinary refers to any gender that is not exclusively male or female. A similar term is genderqueer.
Some common nonbinary gender identities include: agender, bigender, genderfluid, androgyne, and neutrois.
It is usually considered to be under the transgender umbrella, and some nonbinary people will also identify as trans.
Fallon: You're not a girl or a boy, are you?
Skylar: Nope, I'm not! I'm nonbinary.
What does "Nonbinary" mean?
A straight white girl who recognizes that the "part Native American" trend has run its course, and now has to come up with something new.
I can't be racist because I'm 1/16 Cherokee, and I can't be transphobic or homophobic because I'm nonbinary! So ha!

An umbrella term for genders outside of the stereotyped gender binary. (Agender, bigender, Genderfluid, polygender, demi, etc.)
1 Vae uses she/he pronouns because she is bigender. He is considered to be under the nonbinary umbrella.
2 Oliver feels a lack in any gender at all, they have concluded they are agender. This puts Oliver under the nonbinary umbrella.
