In golf - Nearest The Pin.

The first person to hit the green marks that location and puts their name on a sheet. Anyone who hits it closer moves the marker. At the end of the day, the last person on the sheet (whose tee shot is Nearest The Pin) collects the whole pool of cash money.

In operation since before 1985, NTP is one of the oldest Internet protocols in current use. NTP was designed by David L. Mills of the University of Delaware.
