What is Airsoft?
A game where wanna be badasses who are usually too fat or stoopid to join the real military run around with gucci gear and plastic guns playing cops and robbers. They have terrible tactics and absolutely no understanding of real world combat (with real weapons and real bad guys) yet still call themselves "operators".

Airsoft - what is it?
A game in which players use realistic looking guns that shoot plastic BBs. Once a player is hit, they must call themselves out. Airsoft is typically a game for mature individuals seeking refuge from dishonest, pre-pubescent paintball players. Can also be defined as a game in which 2000 rounds only costs you 15 dollars, as opposed to 45 dollars for paintball rounds (and don't forget CO2). Airsoft uses an honor system, which is an ingenious system designed to keep paintballers from playing.
Chad: Hey Chump, I got a kill from 250 feet with my JG G3 airsoft gun in our game.
Chump: Wow my paintball gun has weak stream, it only goes 150 feet. I wish I could shoot that far!
What does "Airsoft" mean?
Airsoft is a game played by people from all walks of life, contrary to popular belief that it's only played by people who can't join the military but would like to. Time to debunk some myths!
Myth: BB's don't hurt
Truth: This is opinion, to me they don't hurt that bad, to other people, they hurt like a bitch, it's all about pain tolerance.
Myth: Only older people and military obsessed nerds play airsoft!
Truth: Also not true, Me, being 15, and having no desire to join the military play with mostly kids my age with the same opinions.
Myth: Airsoft is cheap and the guns are unreliable!
Truth: Compared to Paintball, Airsoft IS relatively cheap, BUT the guns are everything but unreliable, unless you're buying from Wal-mart. A good gun will run you about $100-200, a sidearm will go about $25-40 and BB's are about $5 for 10,000 of them.
Airsoft guns also fire on average about 350 FPS, that's alot for a little plastic pellet, one of my buddies once started bleeding from being shot with an Airsoft sniper.

Airsoft - what does it mean?
Airsoft Is like paintball in many ways. Airsoft is usually slower paced game based off of Tactics, Ops, and Mil-Sim/Reenactments. When paintball is more fast paced. Yes Paintball hurts more and is easy to identify when hit while Airsoft uses an"Honor System".They sports differ in many ways but both have their own ups and downs.
Airsoft Pros:Can fire 6MM Paintballs, Major weapon Variety, Customizable and realistic guns, More realistic weight, A more Honorable Game.
PaintBall Pros: More identifiable hits, Faster Paced, Fires bigger rounds and hurts more.
Airsoft Cons:Slow Paced(Usually), You must have honor or threaten being kicked from game, Small rounds which can stray off, Constant Political votes to banish the sport.
Paintball Cons: Non realistic guns, Big ass Ammo Resevoir blocking your sight,No big weapon variety (Example Shotgunner, Machine gunner etc.) weapon classes Besides Assault and Long Range).
So overall both sports are better in their own ways and whoever is stupid enough to argue which is better has no life and is willing to waste whatever fragment of one he has arguing about it...Is a major Dumbass

A game in which multiple strategic teams use model weapons that exceed the legal power of a paintball gun and fire on each other until the other team is all dead. Uses camouflage and model guns for realism, unlike neon and Super Soaker type guns in paintball.

Airsoft is divided into two catagories.
Mil-sim.
Recreation.
1. Mil-sim, or military simulation, is when a large group of people buy realistic military gear (Eg. Camo, vests, guns) and play large scale objective games, some of which can last for multiple days. Airsoft guns use a variety of propellants, Green Gas, electrically powered springs or manually cocked springs to propell a BB out of the barrell. It is comparable to paintball, however paintball markers shoot faster and harder than airsoft guns. The point of mil-sim games change, but basically it requires one team to fulfill an objective and the other to stop them. Transportation of certain objects, such as bombs and detanators, or the rescue of a survivor behind enemy lines may be used as objectives. These games are usually played on large fields with official refferees and don't end until one team acheives and objective.
2. Recreation: Recreational airsoft can be played (most likely not legally) in someone's back yard. Low grade guns are usually purchased, and there are no legal ref's or rules, and it usually works on the elimination system.
As a whole, Airsoft works on the honor system, as it is hard to see if you hit someone unless you are very close to them. It also has a very good binding element, if you're working with someone then you're bound to talk, and even post-game chatter with people on the other team can be constructive. Generally talking like an asshole is not accepted, and saying you pwned someone is not taken well.
