Definder - what does the word mean?

What is train of thought?

When you latch on to one thought, and that thought keeps latching on to other thoughts like rails on a train.

Bob: Why are you thinking about?
Carl: So I thought how I'm a pluviophile.
Bob: Yes...
Carl: It's cool how I love the rain and it's not calming though, however when you put the word phile at the end of it sounds predatory. It's odd to see how connotations can change the way people's perspectives are made up. It makes me think of many times I try to explain to someone about relationships, politics, or money yet they get turned off just by one word and yet have the nerve to tell me I need to be open minded.

Train of thought - what is it?

A train of thought is a process linking one thought to another giving a common thread.

A train of thought is used by people in debating societies (eg the Oxford Union, a famous Debating Society). Sometimes it is hard to follow a train of thought as some people tend to ramble on.

What does "train of thought" mean?

Similar to the subway of unconsciousness and the airplane of logic, the train of thought is used to casually describe one's thought process. It is usually lost, sometimes derailed, frequently hijacked, and has been known to reverse course. Also, the train of thought is never stated to have a beginning or an end, and it is unknown whether there are any passengers on board.

Dang it, I lost my train of thought again.
