What is social needs?
The habitual need to engage in social media communications as an unconscious attempt for validation of social acceptance. A type of obsessive compulsive disorder most likely rooted in childhood trauma or parental neglect.

Social needs - what is it?
Their social needs are being met when the person is developing their communcation skills and are interacting with others. This is one of Maslows steps on his ladder of human needs.
His social needs were met when he was very young in school.
