What is schoolnight?
The action of a student taking the risk to stay awake all night, in hopes that school will be closed the following day, typically due to a prediction of inclement weather.
Did you see the weather forecast dude? Snow all night. I'm staying up

Left over from when you'd stay up too late when you had school the next day, but applied to adult life; For example going clubbing when you have work the next day
