literally any pronoun except he/him, she/her and even they/them, despite it is gender neutral.
people with such neopronouns sometimes reject "they/them" pronouns and are unprofessional, therefore require a spare human effort to pointlessly memorize their neopronouns to refer to them appropriately. this is annoying and useless as fuck. English is already difficult, but adding more unnecessary vocabulary makes it even worse and harder for English learners.
Pooptard: MY PRONOUNS ARE XE/XIR!!!!!111
Neckbeard: Fuck off you dumb fucking retard, nobody wants your shitty neopronouns
A category of singular third-person pronouns that are not officially recognised in the language they are used to take place of commonly recognised ones.
These are most commonly used by people in the neurodivergent communities as well as within languages not set up with a neutral pronoun. An example of this being iel in French.
One of the first neopronouns to be used was Thon in 1858 - included in Websters English dictionary in 1934.
Dumb ass shit made by 4Chan as a joke just for 3K+ people on reddit to take seriously. The majority of people using this are tiktok girls who can't seem to understand they/them and must stand out, even if it's stupid
"Hi, your neopronouns are stu/pid"
"NOOOO YOURE BEING TRANSPHOBIC"
"I'm trans and I dont accept you"
"W-WELL IM AUTISTIC"
"I'm autistic and I think neos are dumb as shit"
Another trend on tiktok that is harmful to the trans and non binary community. Most of the kids following this are seventh graders in their alternative emo phase who shaved off their eyebrows and wear too much eyeliner. Grow up.
"Hey, what are your pronouns mine are they/them btw"
" My neopronouns are "kitten/kitten self, rot/rot self, BLM/BLMself, and I identify as a chipmunk"
*uses tiktok for 23 hours a day and spends the other hour venting about their faked mental illnesses*
pronouns that are made up by people to make them feel more comfortable with their identity, basically any pronouns except for he/she/they. while most neopronouns are respectable(ex. xe/xem/xyrs, ze/zem/zirs, etc.), nounpronouns are not. first of all they're grammatically incorrect which automatically makes them anything but pronouns. second of all nounpronouns are just used by stupid tiktok mfs that spend all their time in their little tiktok bubbles that wanna appear quirky and cool.
valid neopronouns example:
person 1: omg that person has such a cool outfit, what's their name?
person 2: that's my friend Kaz, xe use xe/they pronouns by the way! xyr really nice, you should go talk to xem.
person 1: ok cool thanks for letting me know!
invalid neopronouns example:
person 1: hey what's your name?
weird mf: im dolly and i go by doll/dollself, pink/pinkself, ๐ธ/๐ธself, kawaii/kawaiiself, neko/nekoself, pup/pupself, mew/mewself, 666/666self, peachjuice/peachjuiceself, and gummy/gummyself because i associate my gender with dolls and cute stuff! my gender is cute, soft and pure! that's also why im a dollgender cutegender and bungender! and if you don't memorize my pronouns you're fucking transphobic and ableist!!!!
person 1: how the fuck is your gender cute and pure? not everything you like is a part of your fucking gender identity. i think you're getting personality/things you like mixed up with gender... but you do you i guess.
weird mf: oh okay so you're one of those transphobic and ableist people. well im gonna go rant about you on my tiktok page to my chronically online following and see if they agree with you bitch!
