Verb
1. To say something that to the speaker is objectively true, but in a tactless or unacceptable manner.
Origin: Writer Kevin Kramer for TV program Be Cool, Scooby Doo S2E9, "Vote Velma." Used by characters Daphne Blake and Velma Dinkley to walk back a tactless statement by candidate Velma.
Andrew Cuomo mistruthed when he said "America was never that great." He later explained that the country has never achieved "full greatness" because of inequality.
