What is megatokyo?
The name for the downturn almost all webcomics suffer from when they start out wacky and absurd and slowly turn annoying, serious and soap opera esque.
Named after the now crappy webcomic Megatokyo.
I used to love reading Johnny the Squirrel because of all the jokes and references, but now the megatokyo effect took hold and it's about the cartoonist's girl problems now.

Megatokyo - what is it?
A term used in gay circles, mainly in the 80's, referring to the act of one person, usually male, being anally ravaged by a group of men. It's essentially an Anabelle Chong played out by a group of queers, with one willing victim put through torment which takes weeks to recover from.
"Nigel had his first megatokyo last week. He was so off his face at the Market that he rounded up 12 of the regulars, took them back to his apartment, and took all of them in a 6 hour ordeal. I saw him yesterday, limping like a lame mule..."
What does "megatokyo" mean?
Webcomic created by Fred "Piro" Gallagher and Rodney "Largo" Caston. After the two fail to get into E3, Piro (anime otaku/japanese dating sim fan) gets a drunk Largo (hardcore gamer/l33t h4x0r m4573r) on a plane to Japan, where they soon find themselves stranded. Eventually, they form relationships with the people around them and find themselves caught in both the struggles to fit in and to get home. An excelent webcomic, though those seeking purely humor may want to visit another comic, such as Penny Arcade.

Megatokyo - what does it mean?
A rather popular webcomic drawn in the manga style, very original and stylized, but a bit reliant on physical humor / Piro's awkwardness. Treats leetspeak like it's some really exotic invention that nobody's heard of.

An webcomic/online worddoujinshi/word about the adventures of Piro the otaku and Largo the gamer, who are currently stranded in Japan. It's mostly otaku and game freaks who will find it amusing.

Megatokyo - definition
The "I wish I was Japense fanclub". It features several main characters:
Piro - The webmaster, artist, and main character of the comic. He is portrayed as a innocent pansy nerd, with a kink for Japanese girls and a obsessive sock fetish. Thankfully, his wussiness has restrained him from several potential scenes of rape throughout the comic, thus keeping the material clean for all readers.
Largo - Stereotypical gamer and avid comptuer overclocker, babbles in nonsensical "l33tsp33k", and due to his constant binging, has incredible resistance to physical punishment, which aids him well in his quest to purge all of Japan of "zombies", possibly a fabrication of his manic America Versus Japan culture clashing.
"The Queen" - Archnemesis of Largo, she posesses formidable skills in gaming, rivaling the disillusioned yankee himself. Intrigued by Largo's stubborness to cling onto his assinine beliefs, much of her story involves a complex silent-romance between her and the unwary Largo.
Hayasaka-San - One of the first friends Piro makes in Japan, she works in a game shop downtown. She keeps to herself about her personal life, and fends off sexual predators with voracious ferocity.
Generic Schoolwhore - A teenager of 16, she too has a crush with Piro, and with the pressure of her two bimbo peers, is forced into a shakey relationship with the reclusive twigboy.
Piro - "Oh my god, I'm so stupid! I should have got her drunk and pinned her down to the floor at the bar and had my way with her. But nooo... I wussed out. Stupid! Stupid! STUPID! Time to drown my sorrows with another drawing of sad girls in snow..."
Largo - "OMGz! U teh fag0rt! I teh l33t mast0rz! Git off me l33t n3tw0rk n0de u teh n00b!"
"The Queen" - "Dark, blackness, consuming me, tearing me up from the inside, can't endure for much longer.... tendrils fingering my asshole.... my sanity is about to crack.... death, darkness, destruction...."
