What is looking bummy?
the soft yet still self deprecating way of acknowledging the fact you don’t appear up to your standards.
similar to a homeless person(aka: a bum), they aren’t necessarily ugly yet due to circumstances they are perceived as otherwise. however, on a good day or with appropriate attire, they are clearly attractive.
makes a lot of sense when referring to the concept that “there is no such thing as being ugly, just being broke.”
friend: “why won’t you show your face?”
me: “tbh, i haven’t showered today and i kinda look bummy”
